You knew when they signed braylon it was because Holmes is going to miss an extensive amount of time. I wouldnt mind if he never took another snap in a Jets uni. Let him sit out all year and cut him in the offseason.

    Not a surprise.
If he is not going to play I would make sure he stays far away from the team. The guy is a cancer

IR, then Injury Settlement, then Released.

    Move on.

Wish we could've found a way to cut him. He played a big part in our 2011 season going down the tubes, and last year flipping the ball to a defender was infuriating

Not for nothing; but if MY foot snapped in half as I was running full speed, I doubt I would hold onto the ball...I think I'd go right into shock.

I wouldn't mind if they cut Holmes ass either.

And then give a reasonable deal to Braylon and bring in another Top-Flight Wide Receiver with the money they were paying Holmes.....

Is there any potential cap benefit if he cant play the season?

give me a healthy trio of hill, bray and kerley, and if one other guy emerges the wrs aren't bad. the just have no tight ends and the rb situation is fluid with goodson's availability in doubt.

Winslow down the seam might be better then you think.

Ivory, Powell, Mcknight may not be terrible. We will have to see.

I'm fine with moving on without Holmes.

Let's come to terms with it and just move on.

It's funny that Tannenbaums remarks will live on forever in Hardknocks.
"Who's the smart guy that got him for a 5th round pick?"

Yea Tanny, the 5th rounder was worth it but a lot of Jet fans grew to hate Santonio, but giving self absorbed egotist like Holmes that big contract was lunacy. Most Jet fans thought he was never a true #1 receiver. That 1st down chit while we were getting trounced was especially embarrassing to fans.
I just don't see Idzik giving out huge contracts to Aholes.

he was worth a 5th rounder. but they gave him $50 million, and that was the mistake.
