Very exciting to hear about our new OC and QB Coach. I think John Griffin might be a keeper.

    Great Job once again KRL!

It feels great to be talking real football again. Absolutely LOVE hearing the good info about the offense. Maybe now we can have an NFL quality offense with some misdirection and variety so teams can't just load up on our lame plays. This is the part of the Jets game that I think the Media and some fans aren't paying attention too. The Media is so down on the Jets based on last year and all the new players, but they're seriously underestimating the difference having a legit OC can make. We have no idea what the talent on this team really is because we have had poor coaching.

Really happy to hear that Gates is looking improved. I thought he was horrid last year. Now if we can get Hill to step up this year we're gonna really have some explosion on offense this year.

I've been saying it all off-season, and throughout my defense of Sanchez, MM will be the biggest and best change on this team. Ryan did himself a service bringing in a heralded and highly regarded offensive coach. QB coach David Lee is a close 1A. The Jets QB's have suffered with Cavanaugh, we finally have a QB coach that knows what he's doing.

It's already evident in the first two days of camp, you hear nothing from the hack media as they trash their pre-camp garbage anticipating to dump all over the offense, and both QB's have seemingly performed well.

But it's not just the QB's, it's the system, and the board has battled for two years about the offense, and which player to let go of, changing QB's, etc, when the REAL issue will have been the OC and QB coach.

Exactly. Last year we were told nobody could see what we were doing. And we did nothing all preseason. Lets hope to hit the ground running. It would be the first time in many, many years.

If he can take some pops this O is perfect for Sanchez.

Rex commented on his presser how Marty has this been there done that attitude about coaching, how cocky he is about what he's doing almost mirroing Rex, he also said he doesn't try to re-invent the wheel, probably alluding to Schotty and his super complicated schemes, not to even mention Sparano who had never been an OC in his life.

David Lee, is no doubt having a lot of imput here as well. Won't be surprised to lose him if Mark shows marked improvement and Geno is ready to start.

Last but not least, I think Gates is one of those type of players that when the lights go on watch out! His speed is demonic, now Rex is saying he thinks Gates is becoming a fine route runner. Remember Marty had two young speed demons in Philly in Jackson and Maclin, Hill and Gates are not too far off in terms of speed.

Andy, and Marty did their winning prior to those two, and ours aren't even close to theirs.

KRL, how did wilson look at safety. Its probably a good spot for him as he cannot play corner at this level.

And how did the rb situation look? Is powell w the ones? How does he look?

To answer a few questions that were posted:

    - Hayden Smith has gotten reps with the #3's but has done nothing
to stand out. Winslow and Cumberland (a little bit) have been making
    the plays at TE

    - Wilson did play safety today but to me his reps were more to confuse the
offense. Landry will start at one safety and at this point Antonio Allen
should start at the other. He has shown improved coverage skills even
    taking on WR's

    - Powell right now is the #1 RB but that will probably change once Ivory
comes back. If Goodson doesn't come back the #3 spot is totally up for
grabs. McKnight isn't getting many reps John Griffin has flashed and Chad
Spann today caught my eye because he was like a "waterbug"

    - What a pleasure having fewer people here you can actually hear the
coaches teach instead of some moron screaming for Tebow

    - After listening to former coaches, QB's and good evaluators (Mayock)
they've always said there are two ways to get a WR open. First the QB
can "throw them open" and secondly the OC can "scheme them open". We
will see about our QB's, but it sure looks like we finally have an OC
    that can scheme people open

    - You can see Mornhinweg's ability to scheme players open as you watch
the QB's go through their drills. They are working on moving pockets,
naked bootlegs, rollouts and misdirections. All of these plays have
elements where they go one way and throw back the other way

    - You are also seeing the PHI elements of Mornhinweg's playbook in the
routes of the WR's. If you ever watched PHI they would always run
angled crossing patterns with Jackson & Maclin. We were running those
today hopefully we can be as successful

    - It was another encouraging practice for the offense. What really
impressed me was the way they recovered and adjusted. Because in the
first 11 on 11 period Rex was throwing all of his blitzes at them.
And at the start the defense dominated with batted passes, pressures
and incompletions. But Mornhinweg adjusted his plays and the offense
    began to beat the pressure

    - Got a chance to hear Coach Lee (QB) during end of practice drills.
Extremely demanding, he had the QB's run gassers then as they were
dead tired they had to simulate a play and hit a bucket with their
    pass

    Player Notes

    - Both QB's played well again but there were more incompletions
because Rex was bringing the fire. Even though they both played
well Smith had the more explosive splash plays today. Sanchez was
with the #1 offense again and he had one INT during a 7 on 7 period.
During his reps Smith ran a QB option play (RG3) where he took it
to the house (40+ yds). He also hit Gates for a deep TD (40+ yds).
This should be a good competiton

    - During WR vs. CB drills these WR's stood out Gates, Marcus Davis
and KJ Stroud. Also during this period Cro and Isiah Trufant had
    nice one handed INT's

    - Cro was very physical today and got into a "fight" with Vidal
    Hazelton (WR) after one play

    - During the 7 on 7 period Antonio Allen (S) showed excellent
coverage on Hill and got an INT against Sanchez

    - John Griffin (RB) and a new RB Chad Spann flashed during the 11
    on 11 periods

    - Powell was running the Wildcat again and as I noted before Smith
    ran the QB option

    - Folk was 3 for 4 on his kicks and Cundiff was 2 for 4 on his from
    45 yards

    Standouts For The Day

    - Defensive staff for bringing the pressure

    - Offensive staff for their adjustments

    - Clyde Gates

    - Geno Smith

    - John Griffin & Chad Spann need to be watched if Goodson doesn't
    come back

OUTSTANDING. .... Please keep up the good work and have you considered writing professionally?

    Thanks for all this man.

Do you see some of Sanchez's fire and gamesmanship back from those first two years?

I ask becauseSanchez has always been able to get the ball to where it needs to get to, but he isn't the type of QB that's going to "throw a receiver open," which is why he's been labeled with accuracy issues and is so int prone. Every time he threw it, there was a defender draped all over the receiver. However, with Bray and Hill's height/catch radius along with MM's ability to scheme guys open, Sanchez could see a Rich Gannon type of turnaround and become a solid QB. He just needs to get his confidence back and get his head straight.

Cool. I've always thought Clyde Gates had tremendous potential but hasn't been used enough by previous OC's

Pardon my ignorance, there's alot of mentioning a of Goodson not coming back. From what? Was he injured? Charges not dropped or reduced? What did I miss?

Pettine is gone so we don't know where he is. Rex said that he was excused for personal reasons, but he didn't say why, where, or even if he would be back. Leaks have been sealed around Jetland, and the Circus has moved up Boston Post rd.
