    Too Funny To Pass Up...

From Jane McManus (ESPN NY) recap of Saturday's practice:

Sanchez was more consistent, going 9-for-16 in team drills with two drops, mostly on short bubble screens. He did have an interception in a seven-on-seven drill when WR Stephen Hill grabbed a long jump ball but defender J.B. Shugarts came down with it. Good thing those stats don't go on Sanchez's permanent record.

Sounds reasonable right??? Except JB Shugarts is an OL who wears number
79!!! Did Shugarts sneak on the field to play DB when I wasn't looking???
It was actually Antonio Allen who made the INT during WR vs. DB drills.
Keep this in mind when you read media reports on practice

Jane McManus is a Grade A idiot.

As you astutely pointed out in this season's first episode of Camp Notes, the media gets all chatty Kathy in their little bubble and then every once in a while looks out on the field and tweets on something incredibly vacuous: "nice tight spiral there".

The kind of commentary you can get from someone who has watched three football games prior. You know, professional reporting.

    Shugarts: 6'6" 299 lbs. (uni # 78 actually)

    vs.

    Allen 6'1" 210 lbs. (uni # 39)

Yeah, I can see how anyone can mix these two up.
