Ivory on hamstring: Iím not ready http://bit.ly/1bNZFc0 #Jets #NFL

I am starting to get a bad feeling about the RB situation this year. What looked like a promising unit is now looking a little thin.

All rests of hope right now:

    1. Hope that Ivory and Goodson bounce back.
    2. Hope that if they don't, Powell and McKnight can step it up.
    3. Hope that we have improved QB play quality, easing pressure on the run game.

But I agree, at least on the surface, the news at the RB position has been less than inspiring.

Reminds me of stock market advice...

When you are buying, someone is selling.

Point being...perhaps there is a reason IVORY was available?

Did we not do our due diligence sufficiently?

Of all the positions where you don't mind a player missing camp, it's RB. It's not like there's anything particularly complex about his role as a 1st and 2nd down RB. As long as he gets healthy for the season, I'll be happy.

He has been an injury risk his whole career, so Ivory being injured shouldnt really be a surprise, I am just surprised the guy couldnt make it through 1/4 of a practice.

Ivory was the 4th string rb in NO. Idzik should have offered a 6th rounder. Why he offered a 4th for a 4th string rb who has done nothing in this league is beyond me.

Powell will be the leading rusher for this team this year.

Im with you on the RB concern.
When Goodson and Ivory were signed, things were looking up.
Personally i was higher on Goodson, but that all appears in limbo now, and the injury concerns on Ivory seem to be legitimate, and its only TC!!!

Hopefully this guy can heal up and stay healthy for 12+ games, because im far from sold on McKnight, Powell, and the other scrubs.

Brandon Jacobs is still out there and I hear he loves him some Rex.

If Powell had just a little more explosiveness, I might not be as concerned. But thus far, he's struck me as a "take what the defense gives you" guy. That's not terrible, but that's not #1 RB ability.

I'd sit Ivory until he was truly 100%.

if he came for the minimum, id take him. Then again, i dont live in NY, and it may be considered treasonous?

Hillis was available till last week.

Maybe those 2 dont fit the WCO mold.

I do think they over paid a little for Ivory. I thought maybe a 5th round pick would be the MOST they should give. They could have drafted Jonathan Franklin in the 4th, who I think is going to be an excellent RB in this league and a great fit in MM's WCO.

I thought that I read somewhere that Ivory had a hamstring issue with the Saints last season as well...
