    First Cuts coming on 8/27

The roster trim down starts next tuesday at 4PM. Will we see any surprised cuts on the initial cut-down? I'm thinking McKnight might be a shocker this early......only time will tell. Post your predictions.

At this point, McKnight wouldn't be surprising.

I'll throw one out there: Winslow.

Don't be surprised. He was given no guaranteed money, is an injury waiting to happen, and Cumberland's lit it up with the starters this preseason.

Yeah, but would you rather him or Konrad?

I think Joe "TEBOWING" McKnight will go before Officer Winslow.

Konrad's actually a pretty solid player. Good blocker and seems dependable as a receiver. We'll see, though.

Been there, done that. Their young guy, Sudfeld, is gonna be the starter.

No he doesnt. He is actually a pretty good TE. He wont light up the stats, but he could easily throw up 700 and 6 td's this year, and considering our qb situation, thats nothing to scoff at. He could be a Anthony Fasano type. Laugh if you will, but thats better than Dustin Keller the past 3 seasons.

Except he is healthy now. Or the Dolphins. It would be beyond stupid to cut him

Sanchez ? Ha.. Seriously if geno wins the job why keep him around? Gmac and Simms can be a nice two and 3. Sanchez is a goner anyway after this yr.. I'd like to hang onto Simms and gmac as future backups..

At this point, I'd be fine with Joe McKnight being cut. I know we're short on RBs but I'm over this headcase and his crap and it sounds as though the Jets FO is as well. Addtion by subtraction...let someone young and hungry take a shot.

It may be my unwavering hate but I will say McElroy. I just dont think he is well regarded and hasnt done enough to keep a roster spot. I have been firm on this team getting anther QB via final cut and they do seem committed to keeping Sanchez for some reason. Game 4 will be a lot of Geno and Sanchez so there is little need to keep 4 QBs going into it. Not that I think Simms makes the team I just think they keep him just because he has a stronger arm and can work out our WRs more.

Not a bad suggestion at all.

there is alot more to playing QB in the NFL then just having a big arm. Not having watched recent games, you missed that GMAC's arm looks vastly improved. He was firing the ball out vs Detroit. He made his reads and hit receivers in stride. Just sayin'........

Hayden Smith will go back on the Practice Squad - as an international player, he gets three years, not two. He doesn't count as one of the 8 PS members, no other team can sign him, and his salary doesn't count against our total. He's looked good when he's been out there, for as little as they play him. They don't have to decide on him till the 2015 season. By then he might be something. Plus, at $6,000.00 a week - not a bad deal for him. He's also good for the scout team.
