    It's amazing to me that...

a team that is probably not going to do well is causing so much ruckus in the media.

I mean you have the Giants who have won 2 Super Bowls in 5 years and there isn't a peep heard about them.

Now in the past, the Jets have invited the attention on themselves. But not this year. So why has it continued? And probably a better question, why did it start?

Because Rex is here. Even if he is no longer feeding the beast (which is debatable) he created the beast. Only way for this ever to end would have been a complete regime change. And now Idzik is getting tainted by the circus so even when we dump Rex there will still be a hint of it. That is why as an owner you either have to sh*t or get off the pot. Woody halved it and this is what we are left with.

So when he goes, what happens then? Shouldn't then, in a backwards way, the media want him to stay?

I'd rather hear about the Jets than not. Could you imagine being a KC fan? Or a Bengals Fan? You would literally have to search for news on your team. As a Jets fan, I just have to turn on my computer, phone, tv...and I take it all with a grain of salt. Most of the coverage is hot steamy fluff to fill a spot anyway.

Yes. And that is the dilemma for the media. Mark Kriegel and LaConfora have touched on this. Everybody, including the media, is going to lose.

In fact the only people who really win are Jets fans because there will be a complete new regime.

    BS...

It's because we have the most dedicated, loyal, and insane fans in all of American sports.

Except for the fact that the Bengals have been on Hard Knocks twice in five years...

And I think it has a lot more to do with Rex coming here, putting out ass-kicking defenses, and then EMBARRASSING the Pasts* off their home turf out of the playoffs.

They've been flat out VENOMOUS towards Rex since then.

They are afraid of the JETS becoming a solid force, because they are either bandwagon Pasts* fans or Giants fans with some kind of small penis complex.

Completely insane logic. Winning cures everything. If idzik can turn this into a winning team that will change everything

Yes, Idzik will have a chance to separate himself from it. And obviously winning is the best way. But only a blind person can't see that Idzik has gotten a little dog sh*t on his shoes since being here.

I think it's because there's so many mass media outlets now (papers, web, social media) that are vying for readers/followers that it's become very dog-eat-dog - everyone fighting over a very dwindling amount of leads -

    Well Rex is still Rex.

We created a situation where the worst QB in the NFL may actually start again. The Jets needed to cut Sanchez and bring in a veteran other than Garrard

The second Rex showed up and started making guarantees everybody in the media was waiting for him to fail. At first, he didn't. But the last two years are the perfect example of what happens when you make yourself a target.

You never know for sure but I think when we dump Rex and Sanchez it will signal a change. Media coverage won't change overnight (and we'll have to win to get positive coverage) but that's when the transition will start.

Tannenbaum built the circus, not Rex. We are in the final phases of it as we transition into the Idzik era.

And if we cut Sanchez the cap hit would have prevented us from being able to afford any type of serviceable vet qb.
