Scott Solomon in the McIntyre mold

Very strong, but wins battles on contact not speed, he's a hustler that looks like a football player, not the best athlete but he knocks people back on contact, definitely not a 4-3 OLB, but he might make it in some short yardage and goal line packages, maybe the 263 is too heavy for him at LB, sorry to see Lansanah and Bell go:

That sums up the Jets approach to LBs for the past decade. Welcome Solomon, you'll fit right in.

Brute strength and technique trumps just speed and athleticism, that's why Maybin despite running in the low 4.5's cannot play in this league. The Wakes and Ware, those guys combine all, freakish strength, technique and athleticism, but I will take a guy like Solomon who drops people in contact over the Maybin's of the world, if this guy has the instincts too he can be very interesting, Rob Ninkovich is another guy I would compare him to, Rex had a white guy like that in Baltimore, forget his name now.

Him. Our guy ran a 4.88 right around where Trent Cole ran coming out, but 40 times are not the be all end all, this guy Solomon destroys people with his hands.

I'm not a McIntyre hater, but saying this kid just needs to be an upgrade from McI isn't exactly setting an unrealistic bar for him to reach . . .
