And only in the world of the Jets is this an issue.

I'd like to know why other high draft pick QBs didn't need or suffer from not having a legit replacement on their teams rosters.

As long as you don't include physical ability into the mix.

In other words, we allow Geno to play with no one looking over his back.
This team actually wanted Quinn in FA so this is not surprising. A lot of people said he was the best FA available. sigh I'd still rather Carr but we where going to sign someone. Quinn could be good in this system as a BU.

Quinn is probably here only as long as it takes for Sanchez to get healthy.

Exactly, makes no sense to wait if he were badly injured. More like the shoulder is injured just enough to have him miss a month or so but not bad enough to land him on the IR

Weird, they found one of the rariest commodities in NFL - QB, who is significantly WORSE, then Sanchez.

Especially this year, I would rather have a promising young guy like Simms as backup than a journeyman like Quinn. Let's face it, all the moves point to Sanchez being more hurt than iniitial reports, so if Geno is injured/benched Id rather give Simms a shot because at that point the season would likely be lost anyway.

But McElroy, like Sanchez, is injured now and not available to play. Jets want 3 healthy QBs for the next couple of weeks and Quinn provides more experience than Harrell should Geno go down. Again, Geno is a tweak of his bad ankle of being out.

teams seem to almost refuse to ever give up on their initial draft grades even when the player has shown to be truly mediocre

If Geno is injured you don't dump the season, you try the vet. If he sucks then the season is shot and if you think Simms has any potential and would benefit from playing you give him a shot.

If Geno gets hurt we will be in the Jadaveon Clowney sweepstakes

Quinn and Rick Mirer have pretty much the same career, but I don't think Quinn will ever play a down for us.

Plus I think Quinn has a stronger arm than McElroy.

Sanchez, Simms, Quinn. We easily have the handsomest QB room in the NFL. If only they could play.

If Geno gets hurt and/or doesn't look like the future, then we'd have to have rocks in our head to take Clowney over Bridgewater.

God do I hope Geno just becomes the guy. We've had about 7 different QBs on the roster in the past 5 months.. Need some kind of stability.
