Thank you defense for playing lights out for 2 straight weeks.

Its a shame that we needed a stupid penalty otherwise we'd be 0-2. This defense deserves better than this. Drafting 1st round defense year after year does this to your football team. Defense however has done its part ... special teams and offense ... not so much. No help for the defense. This Pats defense isn't very good we made them look like the 2000 Ravens

Team has no legit playmakers.. Holmes is up form either ..

The defense keeps the team in the game. However, the offense has not improved over last season. The Jets cannot win with half a team. Also the time management is weak. I do not believe Rex Ryan is going to be included in the long term plans for this team. They hired a head coach not a defensive coach. John Idzik is most likely going to want to move on with a different coach. Let's hope John Idzik can eventually build a championship type team.

Except they didn't play lights out. They played pretty well but gave a freebie td on the 1st drive of the game and let julain edelman catch like 14 passes or so.

They gave up a TD to Tom Brady's offense??? The horror!!!

Edelman averaged 4.3 yards a target and 6 yards/reception. Anyone complaining about that either has an agenda or has their elbows up their butthole.

Brady had 185 yards, they had 50 yards rushing on a 2 YPC avg and went 4-18 on 3rd down.

    D was very good.

Brady was under 50% completions for the first time since 2009.

    In other words...

    THE DEFENSE SUCKED!!!

Anyone blaming the defense is clueless !! Holding Brady to 185 yds and 1 TD and the Pats to 1 TD overall is the definition of a GREAT job. Big props to the D !! Hope they don't quit on the inept offense.

Not to mention they gave up 3 more points than what our offense was able to score. The defense is great, don't get me wrong. But I am tired of all the passes the defense gets all the time. The defense KNEW what their job was in this game. It was to hit Brady. It was to force Brady into making mistakes. MASSIVE EPIC FAIL. Just like every season since Rex has been HC. It's been a huge disappointment in an otherwise great era for the Jets defense.

The Patsies defense had 4 sacks and 4 turnovers. I guess it is too much to expect at least some of that, even a portion of that from OUR defense? Stop giving the defense so much credit, they do not deserve it.

Pats had more punts than first downs. Defense sucks

That's insane. The Jets offense have away 13 points, the turnovers are great, but the Pats scored 13 points of less for the first time in the regular season since 2009. This is despite the Pats starting 3 drives in Jets territory (including one inside the 10). Teams allowing 13 points last year were 32-5. They gave the offense the ball 4x in the 4 th quarter. They didn't allow any points in the 2nd half and (I think) 4 first downs.

Blame MM , blame Geno, blame the wrs, hell even blame special teams, but blaming the defense simply because they didn't get a turnover is asinine. What do you think a punt is? The defense job is to stop NE from scoring.

Well we did have one turnover, the refs just f'd us out of it. That fumble would have put us on like the Pats 30.

I agree that Rex won't be here for the long term either. He's one of the best defensive minds I've ever seen, but he has no identity as a HC.....especially now when he's trying to play this half bravado/half calm, cool customer role. The praising of Belichick every week before he plays him is quite bothersome too as a fan of this team. It's almost as if it's a built in excuse for himself if he loses to BB. It's probably not the night to get on Rex, especially on how well this defense is playing, but I'm seeing the bigger picture with this guy now and I think he's already peaked as a HC.

They certainly did not play lights out, they got a bonus of getting beat by horrendous receivers who couldnt catch the ball. With that being said, they are still a top 5 defense, as they have essentially given up 20 points over the first 2 games combined. (not counting points scored against by our offense putting the ball for their opponent inside the 10 once in each game.
