    Sanchez per roto world

Mark Sanchez (shoulder) says he's been "pleasantly surprised" by his progress, and that there's "no doubt" he had won the Jets' quarterback competition before going down.
Sanchez reiterated that he expects to play in 2013, though that contradicts what ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on Wednesday. Nevertheless, Sanchez's "no doubt" lack of diplomacy could be the first act of bridge burning from a player who knows he'll be elsewhere in 2014. Both sides want to move on. Sanchez isn't going to draw interest as a starter on the open market if/when he's released.

Sanchez knows his days as a Jet are numbered, and it shouldn't be surprising to see him make self-promoting statements.

In my opinion, there is nothing to suggest that Sanchez "won" the competition. Instead, he was in a practical dead heat with a rookie for much of the summer and managed to "not lose" the competition. I still maintain that regardless of the actual competition outcome on its surface, Geno was going to start from Week 1 regardless of Sanchez getting hurt. Geno showed enough potential, growth, and competence this summer to make it an easy decision to turn the page on Sanchez.

i think it's finally setting in that he's no longer the starter.

    Sorry Mark... Geno outplayed you.
He got hurt and you thought you won.
    You still sucked it.
You would not have won the TB game.

QB Geno Smith in first 28 mins vs TB on SUN was 7-for-16 with 35.4 passer rating. In the last 32 mins he was 17-for-22 with 113.4 rating.

I liked Sanchez and wanted him to succeed, but saying he won the competition was not needed. I hope his shoulder is done for season so we can rid ourselves of him. Geno should stay as far away from Sanchez as possible during games. It was clear he started playing like this douche!!

Sanchez is in his 5th year and a first rd pick, the fact that there was even a QB competition is a major indictment on him and the progression of his career....end of discussion
