    http://www.gov.ph

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippines

    http://www.philippines.hvu.nl

    https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/philippines

The UK site is the best site, IMO, for any civilian travel advisories.

And you spelled it wrong. Philippines, not Phillipines.

In the Mindanao region of the Philippines, which is the island to the Southeast, there is a history of military insurgency. More importantly, this is where Abu-Sayyaf resides and operates from, which is a terrorist group linked to Al-Qaeda, but operates independently of. Very recently, Muslim insurgents (group: Moro National Liberation Front - who are looking for a declaration of independence) took many civilians hostages in that region, specifically in Zamboanga (a Christian city). Philippines security forces moved into position in the event negotiations failed to free those hostages, and they did as the Mayor was held captive by the Muslim rebels. Fighting broke out, and everything all the way to rockets were fired - at who is not verified. The military has captured many Muslim rebels, and have handed them over to the police. They are currently negotiating for the release of the rest of the civilians. That's where it's at now.

    Better?

I was in Manila and Makati City in 2009. Beautiful country and nice people. Proud history with the U.S. and played a significant role in WWII.

Could be Gary Bettman, or Roger Goddell.... I'll go with Bettman?

Btw, TImmmy is waiting for someone to help in segue into a rant about the shapes of Philipino's heads.

Here's a guy who fled to the woods out of mortal fear "them" yet posts as a lib in the politics and world events forum, now that he is safe...from..."them".

I'd like to see the shape of Tiiimy's head, I'm thinking smaller scale "mask" type shape-age.
