Brian Hoyer to start at QB for Browns this Sunday

Skipped over Jason Campbell, and Browns will start Hoyer on Sunday (3rd string). Weeden injured thumb.

Browns giving up and assessing players?

    Per NFLN

Ironic that they trade with the Colts who wrote the playbook on how to tank for a QB pick.

LOL. Realistically I'd trade him for a 4th.

Lombardi has, supposedly, had a hard-on for Patriots backup QBs for a while now. At least according to all the bat**** rumors that they were going to trade a high pick for Ryan Mallett.

But I do think they want to see what Hoyer's got.

Man, that Weeden pick continues to be a complete joke and is maybe one of the worst draft picks of all time.

Sure, why wouldnt they at this point. Jason Campbell offers little to the future of the Browns.

Lombardi has fellated Belly for so long re the draft and all things Pats that he fancies himself as a belly junior. Even this trade for a pick bit. He'll probably trade that pick on draft day.

You can't seriously be trying to sell that on this board of all places. The Jets alone have made a dozen picks worse than that. It was bad, but really...

    Let's work backwards from 2010:

    2010 Wilson
    2009 Sanchez
2008 Gholston (mind you - these 3 years have a combined 13 players, of which Ducasse is the only one left besides Sanchez and Wilson)

We've all seen the montages of bad picks by the Jets - I'm not trying to rob you of that legacy. But you draft a 28 year old QB he better pan out. The dude is 30 next month and I'd honestly rather have Kirk Cousins under center than that guy not to mention some of the other quality players they could have had who will be in this league for 10 years not 5.

    Exactly!

Hey Cleveland if you're gonna tank, do it right!

Mark's intercepting arm should be healthy enough to complete passes to the other team in another month or two

You know, I don't know quite how to feel about this. I'm all for doing what's best to improve your team in the long run, but blatantly tanking the season in Week 3 just seems wrong. Feels like the cmpetition committee should do something about this. Then again, less league involvement is better for football in general.
