Proof that Roger Goodell has destroyed this game ....

    Denver 51
    Dallas 48

This is no longer a balanced gamed competitive game ... It is now a race .... Basically basketball on turf ... A living reflection of John Madden Football ... Whoever has the ball last wins...

    What a sad shame ...

Well I think DEN w/ Manning is an aberration this year that we'll have to consider an outlier. But how the hell did the Cowboys put up 48 on DEN?

Goodell deserves to be beaten to a pulp and then tarred and feathered.

Lot more low-scoring games today tho.

And how about that high-scoring affair between the Pats and Bengals, eh?

    Oh, wait.

That was an aberration I'd be very curious about the average total point per game ... Per week.

Except the game was ultimately decided by a defensive play that took the ball away from Dallas when it appeared that they would have the ball last?? Oh, and what was lost in the shoot out was that Moreno had a really nice game himself.

But please, ignore all of these facts and continue pouting over a game that was one of the most impressive offensive games I've personally watched filled with great plays by both Quarterbacks. There are plenty of reasons to despise Goodell. This game was not one of them.

Denver should have traded the farm for Revis

Today's NFL is a quarterback's game. Get great QB play and you can put up a lot of points, even against good defenses. Get bad QB play and you will struggle to score.

You used this game specifically as so called "proof". Someone points out the flaw in your argument that high scoring air shows have always existed and now you wanna bring up other games.

    lolwut.

You seriously think that the game has been changed to favor the offense under Goodell?

And think that he's the one who wants this? Because the owners and tv don't want this to be a more offensive game than the G&P game of old?

Average points per game this season is 23.0.
    Last year was 22.8.
1992 & 1993 were lowest scoring in the last 25 years at 18.7.

Aberration? In the mid 80's most seasons were around 21.5 per

1 whole point from 22.8 per, over 5 weeks, with the bad weather still to come.

    That SOB Goodell. LOL

No question it's now a passing, higher scoring league, but its not quite out of hand. If it does get out of hand and teams start average a combined 80 or 90 points a game, they'll tighten the rules to favor the defense a bit more.

NFL is making a mint because people love the product. Hard to argue with success.
