Highest: Winning in NE playoffs 2010, Watching the Jets stomp out the Colts 41-0 in the playoffs at the Meadowlands (My first Jet game)
Lowest: Kotite's 1-15(Even though I was a kid); More recently: Buttfumble/Mark's 5 picks against Ten.
Highs: 2010 playoff win over the Cheats. Allegre kicking Jets into postseason in '91 in Miami. I was there and it was sweet (for 1 week) sticking it to the Phins losers.
Lows: 1986 OT playoff loss to Cleveland. No doubt in my mind we would have beat Denver in the AFCC and then the Jints in the SB. STILL hurts! Followed by all the AFCC game losses.
Jets beating Colts 44-34 when Joe threw for 496 and 6tds, was there as a 14 year old and was out of my mind! Also when Todd hit Barkum for the win vs Dolphins in '81, 41-0 over Colts. On the negative side, losing to Phins in mud bowl, they were best team in the league in '82, and loss to Broncos-tell me they wouldn't have crushed the Falcons in the Super Bowl!?!
Beating the Patriots in Foxboro was the best it's been for me.
Then losing to the Steelers was the worst. I'm a sole Jets fan in a family filled with Bears fans. We had a huge gathering to watch the Bears/Packers and later Jets/Steelers in hopes of setting up our families dream Super Bowl. Both teams lost. That was the worst day I've had as a sports fan.
High: 1998 season...home playoff win...it was cold and fun!
Low: either the 1-15 season, seemed like bad weather most of the games and no home wins....or last thanksgiving being away from family to watch that horrendous night
Low has got to be the AFCCG loss in Pittsburgh. Drove about 8 hours to that game, really thought we were going to get it done. Then to fall behind so quickly, turned into a miserable night. I don't think I will ever forget walking out of Heinz Field that night. It was as if it was just another win for the Steeler fans -- like a Super Bowl appearance had become routine for them.
High had to be two weeks earlier, when I took a road trip down to Indy and we won the Divisional Game. Funny, I have been a Jet fan for 40+ years and the most memorable highs and lows came about 2 weeks apart. I guess when you make the investment to be there, the highs are a little bit higher and the lows are a little bit lower.
Mine too. It took me over a week to get over the Doug Brien game.
I actually had to leave to a Handball game the next morning (like 3 hours after the game ended) and a teammate said a day later that the Moment I came to the bus was the most upset and p...ed he has ever seen me...
