Can Geno do it if he cuts down the turn overs and plays it safe?? Also have the jets ever had a rookie of the year winner??
No way. Kiko Alonso in a landslide.
You guys do realize their is OROY and DROY right?
Right now it is basically Geno vs Deandre Hopkins and Gio Bernard for OROY.
I think the good Geno bad Geno idea is a bit of a misnomer. Geno has been about the same (albeit improving with each game), it's the quality of the defenses he's faced that have been up and down. And is reflected in the w l w l etc record. When the defenses has been soft he's done some great things, when it's stout he has struggled a bit more. So this game with Cincy will definitely be an indicator of what he can do against a tough defense and whether he has improved in that regard.
Even after 7 games? You can make a case he's the OROY if the season ended today, between him, Lacy and Bernard.
I think Keenan Allen could make a strong push as he is really coming on for San Diego in recent weeks. If the Jets make the Playoffs though there is a great Chance for Geno to win as QBs always have a better Chance beyond their stats...
Vilma won it in 2004.
No way in hell ... Our only shot is Sheldon.
Geno for OROY and Sheldon for DROY? Sign me up. But awards aside, its looking like a very good first draft for Idzik so far.
Honestly, I could care less about who wins OROY, DROY, OPOY, DPOY, MVP, etc. Those are popularity contests that mean little. I want to win the Division, Playoff games, etc. That's about it. The rest is just gravy. I hope Geno wins OROY and S Rich DROY because that means the team was playing well, but in the end winning the division, playoff games, etc. is all I care about.
I dunno, I'm having trouble thinking of anyone who would be a clear better choice right now. If he keeps improving I think he'll have the inside track on the award.
