    If we beat the Saints going into the bye are we a playoff team?

    Everyone talks about how soft the schedule is after the bye I for one don't think there are easy games. Winnable games? Sure ... But no "that's a win" games. I think all those games are going to be tough or a toss up. So would you be sold on us being a playoff team if we beat the Saints heading into the bye and is anything less a fail of a season?

    I think a Saints win would raise a lot of expectations especially when you take into account that yeah we got blown out by the Bengals but beating the Pats and Saints .. 2 out of 3 in murderers row... some prayed we'd go 1-2 ... I think we'll surprise people with our play against the Saints but its a toss up at the end of the day. I fear if Geno throws some picks in this game we'll get blown out at home cause Drew can manage a game as well as he can throw for 400 yards if need be. My expectations will rise if we win this game.

    I think we'll end up at least 7-9. Baltimore, Oakland, and Carolina are all winnable, though.

    I've got the division winners being New England, Cincinnati, Indy, and Denver/Kansas City (mainly due to a cake schedule). Denver or Kansas City is getting a wildcard, so that leaves us fighting with Baltimore, Tennessee, San Diego, and Miami for the final spot.

    The remaining schedule for those teams + us:

    New York Jets:
    @Buffalo
    @Baltimore
    Miami
    Oakland
    @Carolina
    Cleveland
    @Miami

    Record: 7-9 / 8-8 / 9-7 / 10-6
    ------------

    Baltimore:
    @Cleveland
    Cincinnati
    @Chicago
    New York Jets
    Pittsburgh
    Minnesota
    @Detroit
    New England
    @Cincinnati

    Record: 7-9 / 8-8
    ------------

    Tennessee:
    @St LouisJacksonville
    Indy
    @Oakland
    @Indy
    @Denver
    Arizona
    @Jacksonville
    Houston

    Record: 9-7
    ------------

    San Diego:
    @Washington
    Denver
    @Miami
    @Kansas City
    Cincinnati
    New York Giants
    @Denver
    Oakland
    Kansas City

    Record: 7-9
    ------------

    Miami:
    Cincinnati
    @Tampa Bay
    San Diego
    Carolina
    @New York Jets
    @Pittsburgh
    New England
    @Buffalo
    New York Jets

    Record: 7-9
    ------------

    Green = Win. Red = Loss. Black = Unsure.

    I think it'll come down to us and Tennessee for the 6th seed. With them having the head-to-head tie-breaker over us, we'll need to beat at least 2 of my unsure teams (Baltimore, Oakland, Carolina) to edge them out.

    You'll never know but with the bye coming up it would be a HUGE confidence boost and it would go a Long way to go into the bye on a high note...

    Wild Card would be cool, if our secondary can get their stuff straight.

    I think we lose to Brees, though. Our surge will start after the bye.

    I don't see a reason to raise expectations even if we win the game. We don't need the team walking around like they have a wildcard locked up.

    The key goals for this year were to:

    1. Dig us out of the cap issue Tannenbaum created;
    2. Develop our draft picks from 2012 and 2013;
    3. Put together a cohesive and functional coaching staff.

    I'd say right now we're doing pretty well on all three. We'll see how we progress on those issues as the season winds down (although the first one is mostly complete already). If we get to the playoffs, great. If not, then that's ok. It wasn't the objective.

    Am I wrong or does Christina play for the other team? (or maybe she plays both?)
