Thread: Could Rex stay on as DC?

Could Rex stay on as DC?

Has a head coach ever been demoted and stayed on with a team?

  2. #2
The better question is would you want him as a DC? I see people want to keep Rex because of the defense but what is so good about our defense? It's gotten progressively worse year after year. Look at the numbers. Not so good.

He was great the first couple of years but then teams caught up to what he was doing and he hasn't been able to adjust. The NFL has his number IMO.

    Time to move on.

This won't happen. So we can stop with this.

I can't see Rex w his ego allowing himself to be demoted like that and looking he defense in the eye after it. ps I am okwith Woody replaceing Rex now,our defense the last part of this season has been lame.

Rex has too much pride for that to happen; however, given HC money anything is possible. Rex has a boss called Idzik who probably wouldn't want this done.

If our offense was at the very least a competitive, legit NFL product, no one would be questioning our defense. When the offense can sustain a few drives during the game and not have pick 6 Geno providing points for the opposition, then come talk to me.

Not sure if it has ever happened. Closest thing I can think of is Dave Campo and the Cowboys but I think he left the team for a couple of years before returning.

Lol. He is not even remotely close to the best DC in the NFL.

Right.. Campo left for a while and came back as secondary coach..

I would like to see rex as dc but i guess it really could never happen with all the egos involved

No way man. You have to bring in a whole new atmosphere with a new coach. Can't let the same stink around.

uhhh....Rex is already the DC.....it's his HC title that's fraudulent.

Yes let's get mangini back here to do some line coaching . Bring in chad for for OC. And F it give Namath a shot at Head coach he got us there once. It just might work. Edwards has got to be the GM though and do the press conferences.
