Schiano Fired - Revis draft pick in jeopardy...(merged)

With Schiano and the GM fired, the new GM could decide to let go of Revis. If that is the case, jets get Tampa's fourth rather than third round pick. Thought it would be of interest to the board...

Schiano and Dominik fired, there goes the 3rd round pick from Tampa...

    Jay Glazer ‏@JayGlazer
Greg Schiano and Mark Dominik have been fired!

Not a good situation for the Jets who were counting on getting Tampa's 3rd round pick. I doubt the new GM and HC will bring back Revis at 16 million dollars a year next season.

Here comes the bring back Revis brigade.

Honestly, I don't think them cutting Revis is a guarantee although there is certainly a better chance of it now.

agreed, this likely means we lose that 3rd.

that said, the Bucs aren't exactly in cap hell and have no need for a big money QB, WR, or pass rusher (draft) - so they may not have much reason, at all, to cut Revis (except of course to save a pick, which would make a ton of sense)

It's actually a big difference. Especially this year.

No way they cut Revis next year. No way no how.

Schiano to Penn State makes sense, unless the still want to stay away from former Joe Pa soldiers.

Meh, They have 11 picks. If they want somebody badly in the third, trade up to get him.

Ehhhh, it increases the odds they let Revis go but I still don't see it happening.

Either way the Jets would win in that trade.

A Top 12 pick and a high 4th rounder for a 1 year rental on Revis?

And this guarantees Revis' release how?

A 1 and a 4 and all that he was paid for one year while not getting him at 100% and no playoffs is good for their organization why?

Why? They will want to rebuild with an aging 16mill a year CB?

Glazer is one of the worst owners in the league and seems obsessed with big name flashy players, and has had no sort of stability at the GM position in years.

Odds are the GM he hires is told to keep Revis.

with no cap hit, how are you sure? especially if they bring in a HC who plays zone coverage. I'd say 50/50 Revis is a goner....

It doesn't guarantee it, but it does improve the odds that it happens.

As stated before, the new GM (much like Idzik) may not want to pay out $16 million a year for a freakin' CB.

Why in the world would the new GM want to keep Revis at 16 million dollars?? If you took over the Bucs, would you want that contract?

Sign Revis him and Milliner at CBs and move Cro to Safety

Why do some assume that because he's so good in man he cant play a less demanding zone D? He may not prefer it but there is no chance he cant play that way
