James Spader, we'd like you to play James Spader in The Black List.

Blacklist is not bad considering there isn't much on tv.

This site declares it to be the next Lost (high praise indeed).

You can watch episodes for free here.

From what I have seen it may be the best new show in quite a while.

So what did we think of True Detective?

I absolutely loved it. Very David Lynch like, excited to see where it goes.

a little slow...but lots of potential. i am excited to see where the story goes...i think they just needed to do a lot of character development in this episode.

Heh. Thought I was the only one who saw this on SyFy. I enjoyed it and will be tuning in for the rest of this season to see where the story goes. Whoever said it'll be the next LOST really needs to pump the brakes.

    +1.

Because they have big name leads they can take their time developing the characters...they know people will stick with it.

    Matthew McConaughey is outstanding.

I dunno about MCConaughey, he's the same "cool laid back dude" in everything he does. He was really good in Dallas Buyers Club but I don't think he ever becomes who he plays, he's McConnaughey playing a cop, aids patient, lawyer, football coach, ect. With guys like Daniel Day Lewis and Sean Penn they transform into those characters and you forget they are actors.

I can't totally disagree with that, but in his case I don't mind it.

Both Harrelson and McConaughey were excellent in the premier. Excellent script. I like the focus is on their relationship and what happened to it as well as the crime. Lots of subtlety and innuendo. Well done. Unfortunately, you do realize it is only going to be an 8-episode season. Man... I thought it sucked when cable shows decided 12 was the right number, but now it's going down to 8 for some shows. screw dat. Even the revived "24" will only be 12 episodes.

Shhhh...we need to get the viewership up or else it will have an early demise (remember Firefly).
