NFL Network's Albert Breer says Browns' head-coaching job is viewed as "radioactive".

Citing conversations with people around the league, NFL Network's Albert Breer says the feeling is the Browns' head-coaching job is viewed as "radioactive."

"Tough spot for them," added Breer of the Browns, who were quickly spurned by Patriots OC Josh McDaniels. The Browns have an alleged-criminal owner and kicked Rob Chudzinski aside after one year on the job, also letting outstanding coordinators Ray Horton and Norv Turner leave without a fight. There is no franchise quarterback or running back on the roster. It's not surprising coaches around the league aren't lining up to succeed Chudzinski.

Maybe Rob Ryan will finally get a shot

EDIT: turns out Rob holds ill will towards the Browns organization from his time there under Mangini.

Pettine might be an interesting choice too.

It's really not that terrible of a job when you look at it. They have a good defense, albeit not great. And they have a No. 1 WR, and two first round picks to get a QB with the first and possibly another WR with the second to pair up with Gordon. A possible Gordon-Benjamin-Cameron-Little combo, and you are setting it up for the QB to step in with some nice talent around him, and the chance for a decent turn around. If Bridgewater drops to them (which I doubt), that's a darkhorse playoff team next year IMO (unless they make a stupid hiring like Sparano).

The owner and the GM may not turn our great, but the base talent is there for a coach to step in, win games right away and really elevate his value.

Also the owner is a scumbag and could get indicted by the FBI. Probably not helping things either.
Im starting to think the Browns built their stadiums and facilities on ancient Indian burial grounds.
