    Tannenbaum confesses his sins

    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-...ow-was-mistake

"Obviously we made a couple mistakes -- trading for Tim Tebow most notably. But I would say beyond that, but we [could have done a better job with the bottom of our roster], especially toward the end," Tannenbaum said on CBS Sports Radio's Damon Amendolara Show.
    ....
"I think some of the mistakes made were from the bottom end of our roster up," Tannenbaum said. "So when you lose guys like Jim Leonhard or Danny Woodhead or Jerricho Cotchery, it affects a lot of things -- not just what they do on the field, but what they do in the locker room."
    let's add to the list:

    -extending Mark Sanchez
    -drafting Stephen Hill

Ducasse. So glad the Jets were Tanny's little learning lab.

From day one, he has come out and taken FULL responsibility for the FA moves and the drafting. Unless there is evidence to suggest otherwise, that shall be the story

Well, it's not like everyone in the world outside Florham Park was laughing at Tanny for signing Tebow on the day it happened. Oh wait, we were.

Gee, what a shock that no one except Woody Johnson has ever offered Tanny a GM job.

If Tebow could have helped out the Jets then why is he out of the league? But of course it's all Rex's fault for not figuring out how.

I loved the effort; good ride with Tanny as he was pretty much learning personnel under Mangini and Rex. Their personalities were transposed juxtaposed onto Mike so he obviously is a good listener; and a solid GM who might have helped Belichick win further SB; yes, a great coach could have gotten something extra out of Tanny.

He'll always be Tebanny to me. Dumb fvck

You realize he was going to be the Tampa Bay GM until Parcells backed out, right?

Tanny is a little prick *******. Thanks for finally admitting you were totally incompetent, what a revelation.

This is a guy I would totally yell at it if I saw him on the street.

You do realize that was pre jet gm days and due to his body of work with the jets as a gm nobody else is looking at him as a gm

Wait a sec, I thought JCo forced his way out. Why is Tanny taking blame for that?

Don't think we should be killing the guy. He served the Jets very well as a cap specialist, and his run as a GM was pretty good, record-wise, with some notable FA and draft flubs. A lot of GMs have done much, much worse.

So who's to blame for the Winters pick who is arguably the worst guard in football according to PFF?

lol every GM makes mistakes.. Its part of the business. Look at the so all mighty Patriots. How many players have they drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round that arent even on the team anymore. Oh and they also brought in Tim Tebow.
You gotta look at the good stuff he did. He brought in some great talent when he was here. I get jills looking at our '10 and '11 roster with names like Faneca, Jason Taylor, LT, Braylon and Tone (in their prime) etc..
Overall i wouldnt say Tanny was bad. Of course he made some mistakes but so what, every GM does.

Didn't Jets fans gave this guy the title 'CAP GENIUS" when he was here?

    - Signing Favre instead of keeping Penny for one more year and drafting Flacco.
    - And the one that started our downfall... Signing Holmes for $24M guaranteed. We could have signed 4-5 other solid players for that money instead we had to start letting go of some solid veterans and couldn't sign and viable backups.

let's add gholston and ducasse and the boar hunter and santonio and the host draft choices and free agents that didn't work out. tannenbaum started strong but it was mainly bs. at the end of the day the jets had some pretty poor talent at a lot of positions.
