Nice write-up on Archer. Darren Sproles-like.

Wow, even though I'm starting to like Beckham and Cooks more than Lee, I couldn't dream up a better offseason for the Jets. I especially loved how you double dipped with the TE position (going with both in-line and "move" TEs). Well done.

That's a really good job. Good draft and FA signings. I think it is looking more and more unlikely that Byrd hits free agency though. Looks like Buffalo will tag him and at the very least trade him once tagged. Doesn't sound like they are going to let him go for nothing.

    Nice plan UT.

    A nitpick if I may...

I'd rather draft another RB in addition to the Archer pick. Maybe like a Freeman from FSU, in the 4th instead of another OG prospect. No need for a veteran RB with Ivory & Powell already there.

Really nice stuff. I think Byrd is a possibility but a bit of a long shot, certainly fair to include. I however am not a Marquis Lee fan in the least, I'd rather go Matthews, Beckman or Cooks. Other than that, well done, I love the Jean-Baptiste pick, as well as the Sanders and Brown signings!

Glad you went with Lee. I think the guy is the most overanalyzed WR in the draft. I can see him being an Alshon Jeffery player not in terms of style, but in the sense the pre-draft knocks him down and he ends up being an awesome player. Liked the rest of it as well. Good job man!

I am surprised your ok with the same group at Oline. Not even upgrading the backups? do you see the nebraska corner as a corner or safety.

What do you mean not upgrading the backups?

I took Watt in the 4th round with the intention of him replacing Colon in 2015.

I still see Jean-Baptiste as a CB. I know he ran a 4.6 but that's the only reason he'll still possibly be available in the 4th round.

it's very nice, but i think it's wishful thinking that Moncrief and Archer will be there that late. also i just can't see us giving big bucks to Byrd. and im not comfortable at all without a new ILB on the roster.

Nice job and I love the UFA signings. Personally I would let Reed go outright and would only re-sign Cumby at the vet minimum, because he is the epitome of a jag but we are razor thin at the position. I think Reed is a coach at this point and I don't want to waste a roster spot on a has been.

You know I don't like Lee but the rest of that draft is solid. Quick question...If Mettenberger, McCarron, Garrapolo is available at our first third round pick do you pull the trigger?

Really good job bro, a couple of comments:

I think Landry is still a solid player and at $1.8m for the season I don't think they would release him especially if signing Byrd as you indicate will cost them some 8-9m a year. I don't think Byrd is worth that in this system and Idzik will probably be fine with starting Allen and Landry with Reed in the mix on passing downs. If they go after Byrd they will have stiff competition with teams like the Raiders and Browns who have enormous room in their salary cap to spend.

Sanders, Brown and Henne are all really good signings. I wonder if pairing Sanders and Lee would give us two short WR's and while that doesn't make that much of a difference when you have no playmakers on this team, in time teams will pair their biggest CB on whomever is the best playmaker on our team to try to eliminate them. But I can't argue with the speed and playmaking ability of both players.

Niklas is a very good inline blocker which bolds well for our running game and while I have no problem with this pick I can't help feeling like he doesn't offer anything more than what Cumberland does in catching the ball and making plays. He's an elite inline blocker and that helps but 2nd round is a bit too high for a guy who may never be more than an average TE. I think Idzik will go after one of the guards in the draft, I'm not sure the long term ability of either Aboushi or Campbell will be starters this year and it's iffy that they bring back Colon. FS Ward didn't participate in the combine because he injured his foot, but if we don't sign Byrd we will have to go after one of the safeties via the draft. I really like Ward, I think he has big time playmaking abilities.

I still like this draft overall, if we sign Byrd I would be ecstatic ~ but I just don't think Idzik would sign a big time free agent on defense when we have so many wholes on offense and our current roster on defense is a top 10 defense already. Cro was hurt most of the year and Milner didn't have much of a training camp or offseason. I suspect things will be much better next year.

    Again, good job.

Nice mock draft for sure. A lot of guys i had in my pre-combine mock (which by the way looks sick now)...

your FA signings don't make sense in my books. Byrd is going to practically break the bank. Just seems like too much money being thrown around there in that part of your offseason.

We talk about all the cap savings we have and are going to have and will then refuse to spend money on anyone? I'm all for value in FA but Byrd is one guy I would really try and go after, he is not some aging past it guy living on rep that teams like to over pay. A 27 year old who generates just a ton of turnovers in a position we have been band aiding for years. There has to be limits off course but I'd work very hard to get that player. Knowing us Rex will stick with Ed Reed who will have 5 ints but also get burned 10 times next year. I would easily cheap out on WR fa in favour of getting Byrd.

The Jets are basically a turnover creating safety and a real pass rushing olb from being a dominant defense instead of a good one in my books.

Byrd is the one guy in FA that I'm willing to throw big money at.

A 27 year old, pro-bowl centerfielder at safety that we desperately need.

If I'm Idzik, I'd have three main priorities in free agency:

    1. Re-sign Austin Howard

    2. Make Byrd my one "splash" signing

    3. Give Emmanuel Sanders a deal similar to what Riley Cooper just received (5 years, $25 million)

After that, I go bargain shopping.

I like Byrd as well, there are few players that I would be willing to pay top of market deals for, but Byrd is one of them. If for some reason Buffalo tags him, then I would look hard at spending good money on RG and RT. I think there could be upgrades to Colon at RG and there could also be better options at RT than Howard. I wonder if Michael Oher, who looks much better at RT now, would be a better option than Howard. I also think Asamoah is a big upgrade over Colon.
