It was a group effort actuallly, except for Valverde who did well.
Gee looked good, ran out of steam...Valverde was the only bright spot in a horrific show of ineptitude.
Honestly, I was pulling for the Metsies and had hope for them including Wrights late two run dinger, but it wasnt to be.
Thought Collins did a good job of downplaying the loss afterwards, but you could see on his face during the game he couldnt friggin believe what he was seeing. ALmost a slap in the face that Bobby Valentine was doing the wrap up show with that ever present smug smirk.
Even if all the Mets young pitching pans out next year they are not going to win until they get that bullpen in order. You need two big arms in the backend AND a lefty. The bullpen is what separates the good teams from the legit contenders.
On the bright side, tonight...the bullpen held up, a little offense, a little rookie shining and Robertson handled his first post-Mo opportunity as well as he could.
Only three games, I'd like to see the Mets turn it around, Collins has been level headed about it and it was nice to see Danny Murphy do well in his return. Met him, he's a class act, a baseball player.
