Would still love to have this guy on the coaching staff in some capacity

    LOL

After the utter dogsh*t we've had to endure at the position ever since he left, I'd kill to have Pennington back at QB.

This^. I would kill for a QB with his precision. Never turned the ball over. Everyone cried he couldn't throw the ball deep. Guy played offense the same way Peyton does now. Never had a playmaker besides CMart on O

I have faith in Geno, though who knows how good Pennington could have been if he had not torn his arm and shoulder apart several times.

Agreed, Pennington pre shoulder injuries was effective and efficient. He is not just a smart guy, he is really smart. I think he could make an excellent QB coach and then become an OC.

Ahhh If Chaddy just had Vinnys arm or Vinny had Chaddy's brain what a QB that would have been..

    Exactly

I don't know how anyone could question Pennington's knowledge of the QB position and the game as a whole.

It's truly a shame that the injuries prevented the guy from reaching his full potential. I think he'd still probably be our QB right now if it weren't for all of the shoulder injuries.

I still say he's the closest thing to Montana that I've seen since Montana. Their games were remarkably similar. Same drop back, same release, amazing accuracy, etc.

I think if Chad just stayed healthy he would have been fine as is. If you put a healthy Chad in Marty's offense with a couple guys who can make plays you could win a lot of games IMO.

Penny through a pretty deep pass, although be it a bit lofty.

I always got the biggest chuckle from the ACM's trusty "Pennington cant throw a 20 yard out pass with zip. You need that pass in todays NFL"

    Heeheeehe

Except he wasn't, not before the injury.

Replace Sanchez with a Pe-Injury Pennington, and we have two Super Bowl Rings right now.

Pennington is the poster child for injury-ruining-careers.

Did someone in this thread just compare Chad Pennington to Peyton Manning?

Penningtology is alive and well, folks.

Chad was very smart QB, just not gifted on the physical side.

With a QB like Pennington (if healthy) we'd be a perennial playoff team and likely would have won a superbowl by now (similar to steelers formula).

No turnovers on this team = epic success with our D.

Frankly, this year whether it's Geno or Vick if we limit turnovers we are going to win an awful lot of games.
