Thread: Hampur Get Together At Jets Stadium 2014?

  1. #241
Let's do this in Oakland game.

    1) Weather will still be decent.
    2) Season opener. Everybody will be excited as hell.
    3) Start the season right and maybe we can do a repeat event later in the season.

    J-E-T-S, JETS! JETS! JETS!

    Let's recap, shall we?
In the interests of decent weather and before the holidays become a major ****ing hindrance, let's examine the schedule dates only up to the Bye in Week11:

    Week#1 Oakland
Pros: Lots of hope, good chance to start off 1-0
Cons: It will probably be 90 degrees out

    Week#3 Chicago
    Pros: Monday Night
    Cons: Monday Night

    Week#4 Lions
Pros:We can still make fun of them
Cons: They will probably beat us

    Week#5 Broncos
Pros: Maybe Manning plays like he did in the Super Bowl
Cons: It's the regular season, so he probably won't

    Week#8 Bills
    Pros: There's a 50% chance we'll split the season
    Cons: There's a 50% chance we'll split the season

    Week#10 Steelers
Pros: Can't think of one, f uck the Steelers
    Cons: Scumbag Steelers Fans

Too early to say for me, but I'll be aiming for a sept or oct game. Don't really feel like freezing my nuts off if I'm gonna make that kind of trip.

September is usually a fine weather month in general around these parts, as well as early/mid October.

I dunno, better find out what Cookie Monstah has to say about it first. And then do the opposite.

I can't commit to anything until my son's soccer/baseball schedule comes out but I would stay away from week 1. Its the one game where tickets may be at a premium and it will be 90 degrees. I would rank them in this order:

    1. Bills
    2. Lions
    3. Broncos
    4. Stillers

Organized youth sports? You're a monster.

One of the Monday night games would be the best as far as timing for the tailgate. Otherwise the Detriot game as that will be the easiest to get tix for.

I would put the Lions at the head of my list. For those of us that would be coming in from out of town, it is a lot easier to plan the trip without the possibility of a game being flexed to Sunday night. The Broncos game could be flexed if we get off to a quick start. Bills game is not likely to be flexed, but it is the one game that I absolutely cannot do. My son is getting married the Saturday night before that game, so it is the one weekend that is crossed off my potential road trip list -- especially since my son would probably be the one to make the trip with me.

I realize that we would have to make a quick decision about dates then, but if we decide on the Bills game, he has just about 6 months to reschedule the wedding. He needs to lay down the law right now about priorities. If he doesn't, his future wife will walk all over him.

    That's what I was thinking.
We could be 1-3 heading into that Lions game, but yeah I don't suspect there are that many area Lions fans around. If we picked the Broncos game (lots of bandwagoners to be there for sure), tix could be harder to come by, and we could also be 1-5 heading into that game too.
