Just needs to be more consistent
THIS! Hit the nail on the head with the consistency comment. I'm a UCLA grad and watched every play this kid ever made. Thought at times he looked like he had star if not solid NFL wr potential and at times mysteriously very average.

Overall has great hands, size, quickness and a fierce, fun competitive spirit. Needs a little work with polish and hopefully will find his niche. Maybe not a goto #1 as used last yr but a solid possession and complimentary receiver. Cotch is a legitimate comparison and I'm fine with that.

No great minds think alike ... We needed a tough Posession guy over the Middle . Since we had none on the roster

People say Saunders can play inside as well as outside.

Man this is turning out as great as I hoped this draft would be. I can't ever remember having this much fun on draft day. Like Evans. He just looks like a REAL FB player. REAL skills and a guy you can stick in there and get results. The complete opposite of Hill, who has all the physical gifts but hasn't yet put it all together.

FWIW NFL.com had Shaq rated as the 12th best WR in the draft, ahead of Ellington, and the best WR taken today.

And it's going to thin out the Clyde Gates and the like from our roster. This is a good draft IMO

OH I agree. Just making the case that he's got real Skills as opposed to Hill who has the body but lacks the skills.

Not to mention Desean Jackson (5'10 175)

Austin and Jackson are guys that Jets fans have pounded the table for over the past year or so, yet Saunders is a terrible pick in the 4th round.

Baldinger seemed to like the pick on NFL network just now.

Awesome. He has grown since yesterday.

If he is 6 feet by training camp we are good to go!!!

Anyone have link to Baldingers comments or can share the gist?

Having just watched his Bowl game this year (4 catches, 1 TD), thought he looked pretty solid, and then looking at his combine stats and the commentary on his explosive 10y break on the 40, I'm surprised he went in the 4th.

I've excited with the pick, more so than Saunders, not because I don't like the pick, but because this guy looks like he can play a higher % of snaps.

UCLA peeps - any red flags? Folks keep referring to 'inconsistency' does he struggle with beating coverage?
