    Godzilla Thumbs up or Down

I'm going to see it today. The trailers make it look great. The hype machine is overkill so it may turn out to be a POS.

Terrible. Biggest waste of time you'll ever have. Bring a pillow and some vodka.

Unless Elizabeth Olsen shows her boobies I simply don't see the point.

I'm pretty sure Godzilla doesn't have thumbs.

Rental, way better then the matthew broderick debacle but not as good as I would have liked. The monsters were very well done, I liked the Godzilla but the fight scenes were not what I would have hoped for....ps Im a Godzilla fan.

I thought it was well done except for the casting of the main character (the kid from Kick Ass), who I don't rate as an actor. That really bugged me for the first half of the movie, when we're bouncing perspectives between Bryan Cranston, Ken Wantanabe, and Kick Ass (starring as generic soldier with hot wife). The movie would have been much better if they'd eliminated his character and made Cranston or Wantanabe the protagonist instead.

That said, once Godzilla shows up, he becomes the star, and I really enjoyed it from that point onward.

Owie, owie, owie, did that movie stink!!!! What an odiferous waste of time. Hitman was correct. If you thought that Cranston on the cast meant the movie might be passibly OK guess again. Stunk from beginning to end. I've seen better acting in morgues. Ray Ray could write a better script. Worst movie of the year candidate? Gets my vote.

I'll still go see it with the kids, I'm not expecting any Oscars nominations for Cinematography in this one.

Took the son to see it earlier today

I thought it was pretty damn sweet.

And are people really b*tching about acting and plotline in a Godzilla flick?

You watch these movies to see big ass monsters f*ck up other big ass monsters and ravage cities.

I like how each sentence in your post was bigger than the preceding one.

How old is your kid? I got a 7 year old who wants to go, I don't feel like screening it first but probably will.

I thought it was good. Aaron Taylor Johnson, who I like in other roles, was pretty boring, but everything else about the movie was very enjoyable. The movie also made the most plausible explanation (relatively speaking of course) of how Godzilla came to be.
