Question Which receivers would you keep?

    • Decker
    • Kerley
    • Hill
    • Nelson
    • Saunders
    • Evans
    • Enunwa
    • Salas
    • Campbell
    • Ford
    • Gates
    • Hakim

The Jets currently have 12 wide receivers. Half of these are not going to make the rosters. Which six would you choose?

    For me, it's:

Decker, Nelson, Hill and Evans on the outside

Kerley and Saunders on the inside

Might want to see them play in games, line up against a NFL team. We don't know if a Evans can play yet

Decker and Kerley are obviously a lock.

I'd keep Nelson, at least for depth unless our rookies are outperforming him. He's had good production here and plays like he wants to win. No lazy route running going on. No problems learning how to catch.

    Gates and Salas are out.

Otherwise, I don't feel like I've seen enough of the new guys to pick 3-4 more. I am mixed about Hill. I don't think he will pan out but I would hate to see us invest so much play time in him only to see him mature in that third year and hit his stride with somebody else. I'd at least keep him somewhere in the organization unless our rookie class is just incredible and we don't need to waste time finding out what Hill could do just to keep what we know he can do.

The way I see it, somebody is going to come down with a mysterious injury that puts them on IR for the year.

Ford's injury history alone makes you weary. Assuming Ford makes it the guy next up better be ready to play...

Obviously, we have to see it on the field. Still, if you want to guess now, your list is probably right. Ford is a wild card based on avoiding injury. Enumwa is PS but could outperform Evans, Hill or Nelson. It would be a good problem to have.

Mine are bolded - really want to see Jacoby Ford this preseason - maybe he or Saunders will force us to keep 7 if they excel on special teams.

No chance in hell Idzik cuts his own fourth rounders. Decker, Kerley, Saunders, and Evans are locks. The last two spots will come down to Nelson, Hill, Ford, and Enunwa.

Ford's injury history? What about Nelson's?

Injuries happen, this is the NFL, all players are currently healthy, there should not be any thought about a player's injury past unless it is impacting or has the potential to impact his performance.

Jacoby Ford is the kickoff returner and Idzik will not cut his 4th round picks making it.
    1)Decker
    2)Kerley
    3)Hill
    4)Ford
    5)Saunders
    6)Evans

The only way Nelson makes the team is if Hill gets injured again.

    Decker
    Nelson
    Kerley
    Ford
    Evans
tossup- Enunwa/Hill(only if he proves something)/Salas (sorry- he's still my fave underdog player) ---- Enunwa to the PS if he doesn't make it.
