    Catch of the day.....

Went out last night with a light and me and my buddy scored 4 biggies and a regular squid. Everyone said it was "too early" in the season

Omg, tomorrow were gonna bbq them

Simple.....a wood fire. Just douse them in olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper and maybe some parsley and grill em whole until the just start getting crispy. Awesome and easy. I cry when they are fried, such a waste imo

I never caught squid, but did octopus (octopi?). We have to beat them with a mallet or they get rubbery when you cook them. Same recipe add lemon juice.

Octopus is good too. I find if they are well done on the bbq, they are less rubbery and break apart better

Yea we use squid for bait here too sometimes....

The one in the middle is looking at me funny. Tell him to stop or I'm getting my Louisville Slugger.

Haha that was the biggest one. I pulled him up first then nothing. My buddy pulled up the 4 afterwards

Nice. I do the same but I add lemon juice to that mix.

Also, there's nothing wrong with fried calamari. One of the GOAT appetizers

Its not like i dont eat fried calamari, but grilled is just way better. I mean seriously you could just fry bread crumbs and dip them into cocktail or marinara sauce and almost get the same taste
