someday I will understand why we don't take a depth OL and teach him how to LS so we don't have to waste a spot on the LS.

In terms of the roster we are going to cut (and lose) some very good players this time.

I think O-Linemen are too heavy to be effective long snappers, but I was wondering about that as well. They have to be athletic, run downfield and tackle return men. A backup (blocking) TE in the 260-270 pound range could save us a roster spot.

AJ Edds? He's an LB, but when he was first signed, he was discussed as a surprise LS possibility.

Yep. Gonna be pretty interesting to see who we have to let go but it's a great problem to have.

I wonder how many go straight to NE.

TJ Barnes, Hyder, Grady, Reilly, IK I'd assume if they don't make it. But thankfully NE is always like dead last in the waiver wire so the good players usually get picked up by the bad teams.

Who do we drop instead? Evans? Bush? Don't see it. We already have enough situational pass rushers with Barnes & Babin.

There is no freaking way we only carry 2 QBs. Will not happen. Period. Love the rest of the list though!

What's the point of having a 3rd QB? Simms is awful. So is Boyd. No need to waste a spot on them when you have 2 rock solid QB's in Geno & Vick.

Ugh. That was tough. Especially the final 2-3 roster spots. I wanted OLB Jermaine Cunningham in there but then you either have to drop WR Shaq Evans (draft pick) or FS Josh Bush (S Depth, Special Teams Value). Do we carry 4 running backs? We might have to, considering how dinged up our first two backs are, but I don't want to "waste" another spot on Daryl. I rather have a talented D-Lineman on the roster (Grady), or a situational pass rusher (Cunningham). There might be a battle between Troy Davis & Cunningham for that final LB spot. Our practice squad would look absolutely sick with those guys. IK, Barnes, Hyder, they all could develop into really effective starters in a couple years. Reilly is a good pass rusher, Enunwa is physical as hell, reminds me of Hines Ward in some ways.

Looks good but you really think Babin won't make it? Evans could make it to the practice squad but he was probably too high of a draft choice to go unclaimed. Somebody will probably pick him up.

I agree 100%. The 3rd QB is a waste of a roster spot, especially when your starter is young and has some promise. If you can stash a kid like Boyd on the practice squad then fine.

Nobody is going to claim him anyway. Guys like that always end up on the practice squad.

No fullback? If we're gonna focus on running the ball we should at least have a fullback. I know it's not a must these days but is there a dominating rushing attack in the NFL that doesn't feature a fullback? Just curious.

Yeah, realistically either Bohanon or Young will likely make the roster, especially with Rex in charge. I just don't see it as necessary with the guys we have at RB and neither of the FBs have been entirely impressive coming out of camp. I'd just rather carry an extra WR or CB given our current situation - I doubt we only go in with 2 QB so where else can we really squeeze roster spots from given our depth? Personally I'd even be for having 4 RB with Richardson in the mix over a FB. We'll see.

The opening day fullback is not on our roster yet.
