Plenty of people were criticizing the CB situation before the injuries.

    Cro, cut.

    End of story?
Thats the best Idzik could do with 20+ mil in cap room, and FA cb's being plucked up left n right under his nose?

Noibody wants Idzik fired, but how is his handling of the CB position been acceptable this season?
Seattle just won the SB last year with their 4 CBs....a 4th Rd. pick, 5th Rd. pick, 6th Rd. pick and an UDFA. Having good safeties seems to have more importance in today's NFL.

especially if they can also play cornerback in a pinch...

Same here. Before the Ed Reed signing last year, he was making plays all over the field.

Eggs1 is right on the money this time.
The Pats have Tom Brady. WTF is your point?

This is football, not baseball, remember????? It doesnt need to mean he's here for the full term. How many players in the league are cut before their full term of the contract expires? All the time, even when they are still performing well.

Exactly. Yet we get criticized because apparently its not fair to expect Idzik to foresee these injuries. But thats ridiculous because:

    1. Our cornerbacks sucked even before the injuries. Any outside observer could see it from a mile away. Best case scenario is our pass defense is below average. Come on, Millner (good but injury prone, extremely inconsistent) Patterson, (a career journeyman with maybe a career high of 3 consecutive games played) and Mcdougle, (a 3rd round draft pick who missed just about his entire last season in college) is a laughable group. Opposing WR's are probably still laughing a t this. Its the equivalent of going into a season with your wide receivers as Holmes, Gates, Kerley, Hill. You can see from a mile away thats a terrible group, and what do you know, its our biggest weakness last year.

    2. What do you know, 3 already injury prone players get injured. Who would have ever guessed?

They also had a defense that couldn't stop a nosebleed and a WR group led by Julian Edelman and went to the AFCCG. Maybe we should go that route, too.

Why not stay with the original plan? Somebody will step up.*
