    Summer Projects

So, in between work and microbiology classes, I thought it would be fun to detract from my already limited amount of free time and take on a back-breaking project or two. Truth be told, since Hurricane Irene a few years ago, I have wanted to fix up my basement. Seeing as another similar tragedy is always a possibility, I didn't want to go all-out and finish it, but some sprucing was needed.

Anyway, here is what it looked like after Irene for those that may not remember:

Naturally, I cleaned it all up and eventually made The Bunker:

Still, I wasn't satisfied, especially with the state of the other end of the basement. So I took to ripping it all out and starting from scratch:

Due to image constraints, continued in the next post.

So, here's the finished product. Not nearly as good as some of the other spaces posted on here, but like I said, I had to be pragmatic.

    The Bunker:

    Basement:

...and how the hell do you keep your work bench that clean? Mine has shlt everywhere that I toss on the bench when I finish a job instead of putting it away. Eventually I have to spend a full day once a year or two to clean up the damn thing.

I thought I was the only one?!?!?!

Case in point. I got a new table saw for the Christmas of 2012. It took me a year to unbox it and set it up. It hasn't been turned on YET, but instead has sh*t piled on it that won't fit on my work bench. How's that?!?!?!

    Great job! Looks awesome.

Hope you invested in a trenched french drain and pumping system around your house before doing all of that. Would hate to see it ruined during the next storm.
