He will be on our roster in 4 years.

I think you guys are missing all the positive things he did. If he didn't go brain dead they would be moving on in the playoffs.

It's not as dire as all the same ole sfhs fans would think.

I feel for the kid, because that what HS students are...sensitive kids that look like adults. Hope he's strong enough to deal with this negative attention.

    Yup.

Kid must be devastated. You only realize later how futile such events are in the grande scheme of things, but right now I hope he’s got thick skin and good friends.

obviously the kid messed up, but why did the coach call that play to begin with? he could have been sacked and fumbled.

should have just handed it off. that would have ran the clock out too.

The kid was clearly trying to avoid what he thought was going to be a gratuitous hit and made the terrible knee jerk reactions of simply dropping the ball. I'd bet dollars to donuts that he did not do what the HC told him to do, which would have been "run around and then take a knee". As to the HC, I also guarantee they never practiced that play, if they had I would expect that the QB would run straight back and take a knee 15 yards behind the LOS. It is always hard to blame the player if you are asking him to do something for the first time in a game. Also, there is a "safety" in a victory formation. So, why not one for this play? These things have to be practiced over and over again. Lots of blame to go around.

If they were playing the Jets, he would have recovered his own fumble.

Guaranteed this kid is a dual athlete and plays basketball. Mixed up the rules.
