Haven't seen Any Given Sunday in some time. Wasn't the ending just horrible? I remember them calling a bunk timeout (or something) that would have made Mike Tice laugh out loud. Anyways it totaly ruined the movie for me, and lost it some credability. Youd think with a big budget flick the would have at least looked into realty.

So.... *ahem* nobody else likes Wildcats?

....but it has Wesley Snipes and Woody Harleson... long before White Men Couldn't Jump... (and that weird Money Train thing where the were "brothers"...)

Guess it's just me then!  :P

Man if anything was that awe inspiring it has to be that movie. Besides it's Burt Renolds' best work... :D
Even better than "Smokey and the Bandit?"
Please, you could have put Glen Campbell in the role of the "Bandit". Hal Nedham's stunts & direction sells that movie, Not Burt...

Why? Even tho its cheesy at parts, i felt it was true to the spirit of the NFL as it is today - the drugs, the shady doctors, interfering owners, LL bling bling doing blow off of some hootchies - Pacino was Parcells-esque. I loved the untraditional camera angles, the fact that the first 10 mins made me want to puke seemed about right-- thats how pro football is - quick, sudden, violent, drugged to the gills - in the end a little sickening.

My problem with Any Given Sunday was that it took everything to a laughable extreme.

If I wanted to see a film about "the drugs, the shady doctors, interfering owners" etc, I'd recommend basing it on a realistic source like the book written by Huizenga, "You're Okay, It's just a Bruise", who served for years as the team physician for the Raiders.

Any Given Sunday looked more to me like a very long MTV video than a serious film about football.
