1. BENGALS ~ QB CARSON PALMER

If at first you dont succeed ... try, and try again
======================================================
2. LIONS ~ WR CHARLES ROGERS

Worst kept secret in the draft ... Harrington gets a Randy Moss clone
======================================================
3. TEXANS ~ WR ANDRE JOHNSON

Casserly follows that up by giving his young QB a David Boston clone
======================================================
4. BEARS ~ QB BYRON LEFTWICH

They ain't winning squat until they find a decent QB ... and they know it
======================================================
5. COWBOYS ~ DT DEWAYNE ROBERTSON

The Tuna puts his Planet Theory into action with this pick
======================================================
6. CARDINALS ~ DE TERRELL SUGGS

This team has a number of needs ... none greater than a pass-rusher
======================================================
7. VIKINGS ~ DT JIMMY KENNEDY

Vikings are thrilled to place this animal next to Chris Hovan
======================================================
8. JAGUARS ~ CB TERENCE NEWMAN

Best CB in the draft at #8 ... Jags send this card to the podium in two seconds flat
======================================================
9. PANTHERS ~ OT JORDAN GROSS

OT is a huge need, but if they were smart they would accept the fact that they suck and take Boller
======================================================
10. RAVENS ~ QB KYLE BOLLER

Billick is no idiot. In-fact, he's kinda smart ... so he shows the Panthers how it's done here
======================================================
11. SEAHAWKS ~ CB MARCUS TRUFANT

Hawks fill a huge need at #11 with a dynamite prospect
======================================================
12. RAMS ~ OT KWAME HARRIS

Rams offense dictates that they better have great pass-blockers
======================================================
13. NY JETS ~ DT KEVIN WILLIAMS

And our prayers have been answered ;)
======================================================
14. PATRIOTS ~ DT WILLIAM JOSEPH

They really wanted Kevin Williams here, but we beat them to the punch :P
======================================================
15. CHARGERS ~ OLB BOSS BAILEY

Chargers LB's are not exactly world-beaters ... so they gamble on greatness here
======================================================
16. CHIEFS ~ DT JOHNATHAN SULLIVAN

Chiefs need to beef-up that D-Line ... they are thrilled to find Sullivan here
======================================================
17. SAINTS ~ CB ANDRE WOOLFOLK

Saints begin the task of fixing that absolutely dreadful secondary
======================================================
18. SAINTS ~ SS TROY POLAMALU

And the task continues with the hardest hitting Safety in the draft, who runs under 4.4
======================================================
19. PATRIOTS ~ DE MICHAEL HAYNES

Belly is from the Parcells school of thinking, so he passes on McDougle and takes the bigger guy
======================================================
20. BRONCOS ~ DE JEROME MCDOUGLE

Shanny is from no such school, so he takes the smaller edge-rusher here
======================================================
21. BROWNS ~ MLB EJ HENDERSON

How many LB's do the Browns have left on their roster ... two or three?
======================================================
22. NY JETS ~ DL KENNY PETERSON

Jets hope this is the draft that finally produces a dominant D-Line
======================================================
23. BILLS ~ OL ERIC STEINBACH

Drew Bledsoe cost them a fortunue ... consider this his health insurance plan
======================================================
24. COLTS ~ CB RASHEAN MATHIS

They really wanted Peterson, so they settle for the NCAA's all-time INT leader
======================================================
25. GIANTS ~ DT TY WARREN

Not bad for #25 ... a credit to the depth in this draft at DL
======================================================
26. 49ERS ~ WR KELLEY WASHINGTON

Tai Streets appears to have one foot out the door ... Owens gets a new playmate
======================================================
27. STEELERS ~ SS MIKE DOSS

Steelers are taking the best available DB in this spot ... bet the ranch on it
======================================================
28. TITANS ~ RB LARRY JOHNSON

Eddie George is real close to being toast, so they add the 2000 Yard Rusher from PSU
======================================================
29. PACKERS ~ QB REX GROSSMAN

And the process of grooming the great Brett Favre's replacement commences
======================================================
30. EAGLES ~ DE DEWAYNE WHITE

A pass-rushing DE in this spot was solidified the day Hugh Douglas walked out the door
======================================================
31. RAIDERS ~ DE CHRIS KELSAY

Hey, we need a DE too!!
======================================================
32. RAIDERS ~ QB DAVE RAGONE

Gannon is an All-Pro, but did anyone notice those gray hairs?

I'm a bit suprised at #22, when you could have had Warren!!

I honestly feel that Williams is gone before we choose at #13!!

Here is how I would like to see that pick at #22 play out.

The Jets take Peterson, the player that the Colts and Giants really want. A bidding war ensues. The Colts play their trump card and give the Jets their first and second rounder for Peterson.

At # 25, the Jets either take Rasheen Mathis or trade down even farther.

Jon, this is not nessecarily the way I would go ... I am making a legit attempt to project the actual picks for all 32 teams next saturday.

Now let me explain the thinking behind my projection of Williams & Peterson to the Jets.

KW and KP are both the type of lineman that the Bucs like to employ.

They are both coming in at right around 300 LBS (KW a tad over and KP a tad under), both are able to provide a pass-rush from the inside or the outside, and both are big/strong/quick enough to disrupt the oppositions running game as well as provide a pass-rush.

Along with John Abraham, I believe this could be the beginning of a Bucs type front-four.

Having said that, Ty Warren is more of the traditional run stopping DT, who can occasionally offer something in terms of a pass-rush.

Nothing wrong with having one those, but I am betting that Herm and Bradway have something else in mind ... something that more closely resembles the Bucs front-four.

And that is why I am projecting KW and KP to the Jets next saturady.

We shall see?

One last thing .....

Another stratagy the Bucs like to employ is stocking up on D-Linemen so they can rotate bodies and keep everyone fresh.

The Bucs clearly believe in the philosphy that says there is no such thing as TOO MANY quality D-Linemen.

I think this is because their D-Linemen tend to be of the smaller/quicker variety. They don't want them to get worn down, so they rotate quality D-Linemen IN and OUT as to keep them all fresh.

So let's assume KW and KP both pan out, and Bryan Thomas pans out as well.

Suddenly we willl have a stable of D-Linemen that we can rotate during games ... even offering JA an occasional breather as well.

Do I sound like a mad scientist, or is this making sense? <_< :D

Not a wink :lol:

This draft is going to dictate the course of this franchise for years to come ... I sincerely believe that.

I realize how high the stakes are here ... so how can I even consider sleep as an option? :D

But seriously, no words can accurately describe just how HUGE I believe this draft will be for the Jets Organization ... one way or the other.

Gang green eh? I hate that place. The guy running it got upset with me and shut off my posting rights because I questioned his "Pennington Choked" angle.

Choked and playing badly are 2 different items.

I projected him for us in round six from the beginning.

You are right about the other GMs though. It is hard to slip anything past those vultures.
