Thread: OT: Short & Sweet

    I'm gonna make this short & sweet

    I'm emotionally drained ... barely have the energy to type ... don't even know what to say

    Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox on a wonderful season ... you guys are truly an awesome baseball team ... beyond awesome

    As for my NY Yankees, what can I say ... I couldn't be prouder

    Anyway, I'll have more to say about this tomorrow ... right now I am absolutely spent

    Lastly, this Game 7 and this Series truly lived up to it's billing ... an ALL-TIME CLASSIC ... Game 7 and the Series as a whole ... an absolute dogfight

    What can I say ... it took 11 innings in Game 7 to finally crown an A.L. Champ ... that pretty much says it all

    Giambi ... AWESOME {he had the most to lose and he came up HUGE}

    Boone ... AWESOME {another cat who struggled throughout the series and he struck the blow that landed the NY Yankees in the World Series

    Mariano ... BEST CLOSER WHO EVER LIVED ... PERIOD

    That's it for now ... that was my last ounce of energy ... talk to you folks tomorrow

    Nite all

    PS. I have never been so proud of my NY Yankees ... not even after they won the WS {77, 78, 96, 98, 99, 2000}

    6 World Titles in my lifetime ... and not a single one made me feel prouder of this team than I am tonite

    Over & Out

    Yankees should give Grady Little a game ball or something. Apparently he didn't read about the Cubs and Dusty Baker leaving a starter in too long.

    The Eck - who gave up the most notorious home run in 25 years to Kirk Gibson?

    It was priceless to watch Remy and Eckersley whine on NESN last night.

    Dennis Eckersley:

    Postseason(28 games not including WS): 1-3 3.00 ERA 15 saves 36 IP
    World Series(6 games): 0-2 5.79 ERA 1 save 5 IP

    Mariano Rivera:

    Postseason(53 games not including WS): 6-1 0.90 ERA 25 saves 80 IP
    World Series(18 games): 2-1 1.67 ERA 8 saves 27 IP
    (not including 2003 playoffs)

    You can have Eck, I'll take Mo every time.

    Mo is the best post season closer ever - no one can dispute that. The guy is unbelievable. Tonight just reaffirmed that he is the one guy that is the true x-factor between the Yankees and other teams.

    Even more incredible when you consider the fact that the one loss was the result of a couple of bloops, a bunt, an error, and only one hard hit ball the entire inning.
