Oh no! I was wondering why I didn't see him around here anymore. My deepest sympathy to the Matta family.
I remember GreenPetey's posts and even when his wife posted. He was so proud of his police background and loved Chad Penningon. Even though just knew him from his posts here, you can tell he was a man of high standards and strong convictions. How sad to hear of his passing.
My heart goes out to his family. He'll be missed.
Here is a quote from Pete describing his encounter with Chad (pictured in the avatar Sooth posted).
Right after the San Deigo win , Marvin Jones and Wfan had a charity event at hooters in NY. I drove down, because it was rumored Chad would show up.
Well he sure did, and a nicer more dow to earth guy you will never meet. :D
Warm, freindly, and very humble.
His parents did a good job.
He autographed my wife's and my jersey, personally, and we even spent a few minutes talking about the transition to starting QB
Kid was never in a rush, and seemed more awed that I wanted to atalk to him, than I did :D
We are lucky to have someone with his talent, leadership, and personal demeanor.
He is worht the Keyshawn trade by himself :D
