Fat chance.

Not with that lineup. No curse will help the BoSox here.

Well, put your name where your mouth is.

Smizzy and I have a bet. If one of your respective teams wins the WS, the other is banned from talking about them. Forever here on JI.

Well?

If I recall the SI Baseball Preview issues:

1998 - Mark McGuire (StL)
1999 - Kevin Brown (LAD)
2000 - Pedro Martinez (BOS)
2001 - Derek Jeter (NYY)
2002 - Jason Giambi (NYY)
2003 - New York yankees Pitching Staff (NYY)

So not even the yankee mystique are above the SI Jinx, 3-0 when they aren't on the cover, 0-3 when they are...

Wasn't Nomar on it the same week he broke his wrist a couple of years ago?

Nomar was also featured in an article one time in SI. Then that same week his wedding invitations got all screwed up. It was terrible. His wife blamed SI.

He was on a cover once and then I think 3 days later he broke his wrist.

This year McNabb was on the week they got spanked by Carolina. Pennington was mentioned ont he cover the week we got beat by the Raiders in the playoffs. It is kind of eerie.

Tom Brady was on the cover and the week before that he won the SuperBowl.

Coincidence?

When I type stoopidasssoulessbastard - that means Steinbrenner.

Mark McGwire makes the cover in 98' Hits 70 HRS and shatters the single season HR record. Almost single handedly renews national interest in baseball after the strike. And proceeds to hit 65 the very next year. You Call that a curse????

And if i recall, wasn't Jeter the MVP of the all star game in 01'?
