The 1918 Red Sox title is the only Championship that I think needs an asterik.
1918 Red Sox *
* This is not commonly recognized as a real Championship because the regular season was cut short due to WWI. The Red Sox finished 2.5 games ahead of Cleveland after playing only 126 games. Had the full schedule been played the Red Sox would have had sufficient time to choke.
* This is not commonly recognized as a real Championship because the series was fixed. The World Series shares were really low (lower then previous years). And both teams threatened to strike and not finish the Series. Game 5 was delayed by an hour due to the matter. Although the players received no concessions they decided to proceed with the game (they just fixed the outcome and made up the difference by betting on it).
* Although rings were not awarded to the winners yet, emblems were. The commish was mad at the 1 hour delay so the Red Sox were never given emblems. Since this was never done, the Sox are not recognized as having won the series.
