In the AL the 2 standouts are yanks and Red Sox. Look out for the Angels, A's and Mariners. Teams like KC and the Twins may excite a little buzz, but they are not deep enough.

In the NL the real standout appears to be the Cubs which means they won't make the playoffs. Look to the Astros, Cards, Braves and the Phillies this year. I see the Phillies coming through.

World Series: Phillies Vs Sox (I gotta believe&#33

If that series were to start tomorrow I say the Sox would win, but after 6 months of ball teams change.

THe Marlins didnt look like a world series team either. Niether did the Angels. If the Padres' young pitching finally comes into their own this year they will be a very dangerous club. Their offense is stacked and they got HOffman as the stopper.

Truth is, there is no clear cut favorite in the NL West. All the teams have "warts". The Pads have youth, and a decent lineup if everyone stays healthy. Nevins, Klesco and Giles is a very dangerous middle of the order. They have decent kids, and Wells is healthy enough to win 16-18 with that team.
