Wasn't that the season where newly signed Raul Allegre kicked the game winner against Miami to get us into the playoffs. Ahhh...memories.

Sure was...great game and a great result. I seem to remember Allegre kicking some real ugly FGs in the game, but he got us the win over the stinkin' fish and a trip to the playoffs, so I will always have the greatest respect for the little guy!

Johnny Hector running like a madman. Raul Allegre bonking field goals in against the uprights. Freeman McNeil sprinting around right end for an extra 8 yards with 0:02 left in regulation. What a game.

The best part was the look on Marino's face when the Allegre nailed the game winner.

Yeah, Johnny Hector was awesome in that game. He did not want to be denied. Freeman McNeil also showed some of his old magic with some great gliding, cutback runs that left the Phishies for dead.

    Ah, those were the days...

a little trivia - i believe Dennis Byrd was the first player to get a safety vs Marino (at home just a few weeks before his injury)

The first Jet game I remember watching was the Jets-Oilers playoff game that year with my dad. Even though Al Toon dropped a TD (I think?), I still liked him the best that day.

I was lucky enough to be at that game. I had planned it in September of that year and little did I know that I would be going to the biggest game of the year. After the game, I was waiting for my flight home from Fort Lauderdale still wearing my jersey and cap and all I heard were boos and a few cheers!
