Congrats on the kids, but dont wait on the mold I hear it can cause birth defects and other diseases. Is this a new purchase? Did they not find it during your home inspection? Make the owner of the house discount the price in the amount of the damage you must fix, or just go find another house.
Congrats on the kids.... As for the mold, the home inspection company should have found the problem. But more importantly identify where the water problem was and be sure it is fixed prior to remediation. I am assuming you are in Florida..you may want to get a couple of estimates as the mold co's are a dime a dozen. Maybe look up Southeastern Mold Institute
Congrats ... and don't wait on the mold issue. Depending on the type of mold, there may be airborne spores that can be harmful and with two new babies coming into the house .... Just don't wait on it.

great news on the babies...get rid of the mold...
I just discovered it in my basement, get air samples, and have it removed. The process is much like th removal of asbesteos, and it is expensive. I have got three estimates, so far 15k and 10k, just have it taken care of for your health, one of the joys of homeownership.
BTY, I'm betting everyone has mold in their home, it's the latest project for abatement companies.
Hey easy on us abatement companies, but actually you are right...a lot of scams out there tearing down walls and rooms for no reason... depending on the situation the walls and flooring can be saved. Just get several estimates, ask what the certifications are, chemicals using etc
Hey man, Congrats on the good news. The Greatness of twins far outweighs the hassle of mold. In my line of work I am constantly coming across properties with mold issues. Its not that big of a deal. Look at it this way: Those old bathrooms needed to be upgraded anyway. It adds value to the home when the bathrooms are nice. My advice, spend what you can to make those bathrooms great. Turn a negative into a positive. Also, dont get sucked in to hiring some expensive mold removal specialist. If your handy just go in there with a mask on and do the demolition yourself. Once all the drywall or plaster is removed and cleaned up, bring in a contractor to put up the new Bathroom. Good Luck!
Thanks every one - excited about the kids - haven't posted in a few days as I am working my a@@ off on the house to be. Inspection said we may have a "slight" mold issue. I have run the gambit in assessments - from don't worry about it to $25k in remediation.
4H- Had 1 guy come out and charge $400 just to tell me I had mold - not where it is!! Another guy charged me $1k - but he took samples all over the place - attic - bored into walls. Most likely I have to tear down 2 bathrooms and redo. My wife loved the house and the cost of the home + the fixes still are less than what it should go for - had some gc friends look at it.
As long as it will be clean and free of mold, the wife and kids being healthy and happy - that is all that matters in the end.
Thank you everyone for your kind words - now I have to find boy and girl baby Jets and Gator wear!!!!! :D :D
