Thread: Chads audibles beginning of end......

1. #1
for Hackett,,
He will start to lose favor After several victories when it comes out after game that the key plays were audibles...
I think we will see a agressive 'west coast ' assistant get the gig after Hackett 'seeks' other options at year end.

The more I think of Hackett's comments, the more I get pissed. Seriously, he makes it seem like we are the only team that is getting a new WR. Seriously, with all the turnover in the NFL, I would say the changes we made this year to the O are extremely minimal. In fact, we should be at an advantage b/c this is the 4th year of the offense and our QB has been here all 4 years. This built in excuse b/c we have a new #2 WR and a new G is so bogus.

Hopefully Chad will audible out of the 3rd and 15 running back draw that Hackett will call .....

hackett cost Vinny games last year..PERIOD..
Vinny shoulk be the OC..what the hell has hackett ever done anyway!

I hope that they allow Chad to audible...I mean if Hackett cals a dive on 3 and 8 and they are playing a soft zone...C Penn should be able to call a passing play for maximum yardage and a 1st down...

And call what play?

An 18-yard deep out across the hash marks?

Pennyboy doesn't have the arm to make that kind of throw. ;)

Hacket would call a blast with Cumar at 2 and 9..gets three yards

3 and 6....Hackett might call a dive with cumar...

BUT C'Penn would audible a 8 yard sland and hit for a first down

In all seriousness, Hackett needs to change one major thing:

He needs to throw the ball more on 1st down.

With Pennyboy's play-action ability (Ouch!) this is the perfect down to do that.

Doesn't have to be a long pass, but if you pick up 6-7 yards you are already in a 2nd and short situation.

Duh

Good point Tx... but that is the whole problem... "Hackass" as some Jets fans so eloquently put it, is afraid to throw the ball on first down because he does not want a second and ten situation... He does not trust his talent... He calls a very timid game... The only time Hackett will get aggressive is if the team has already made some big plays and he is building confidence in them... He never wants to push the envelope... This is Hackett's primary problem... He would rather run against an 8 man front on first down and get two hard earned yards rather than take the chance of throwing the ball and god forbid, having an incompletion... Incompletions happen Hackett... It is not exactly insurmountable to get 10 yards in the next two plays... but that is how his sick mind works... :P
