Pre-Season reviews mean nothing (either in college or the pros). What place did Lamont finish in Heisman voting that year?

2000 Heisman Voting:

Rank Player School Pos. Total
1. Chris Weinke Florida State QB 1,628
2. Josh Heupel Oklahoma QB 1,552
3. Drew Brees Purdue QB 619
4. LaDainian Tomlinson TCU RB 566
5. Damien Anderson Northwestern RB 101
6. Michael Vick Virginia Tech QB 83
7. Santana Moss Miami WR 55
8. Marques Tuiasosopo Washington QB 41
9. Ken Simonton Oregon State RB 25
10. Rudi Johnson Auburn RB 20

Odd, no Lamont.....
All I am trying to say is if curtis goes down and we dont have LJ . It will have the same effect on the team as it did when chad went down last year.

my point of my originaly post wasnt to bash anyone, or lead to a thread of bashing.. it was mearly tongue in cheek about how we come here every day (myself included)and go to great lengths talking about and hyping up guys who will probably never even make the roster. .. which is why i love the offseason
yeah....people got out of hand with this and started ATTACKING you :o . Don't get it. Very emotional board.

And I disagree.

Chad is the focal point of this offense.

He is irreplaceable, in my opinion.

If Cumar goes down for any length of time, a commitee of Sowell and Askew and Ward and practice squader and whomever we sign as a backup should LJ get traded WILL suffice.

Curtis is NOT Ladanian Tomlinson or Priest Holmes (not any more).

RB CAN be replaced and LJ is not the only guy who could do the job.

Again, I like the guy, but I think many overrate him, and most of that is based upon what he did as a junior against Wake Forest and Virginia and Duke and North Carolina.

Not what he's done for the Jets--although that's NOT his fault.

Care to apologize?

I get ya man (how can I dislike anyone named after my all-time favorite Jet? LOL!)

I just think LJ, while a great player, isn't going to work out here because of Martin. I lIKE Jordan alot actually, and would be fine with a 50/50 carries between him and Martin.

I think we can get (VERY cheaply) Rock Cartwright from the Skins (he WILL be cut since they don't use FB's). Rock and Askew can handle C.nart backup duty just fine.

But it isn't gonna happen sadly. So we need to get rid of him before we lose him for nothing. That's all :)
