TAMPA - A New York City schoolteacher was released Friday from the Hillsborough County Jail after he posted bail on charges that he had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl in Hernando County.
Richard A. Siligato, 39, of Bronx, N.Y. now faces 20 counts of lewd or lascivious battery on a child under the age of 16 and 16 counts of sexual activity with a minor.
He was arrested Thursday in Hillsborough County on an outstanding warrant for the charges, said Lt. Joe Paez, public information officer for the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
Lewd or lascivious battery is a second-degree felony. If convicted, Siligato could face up to 15 years in the state penitentiary.
Authorities say the incidents occurred during a five-month period between Dec. 9, 2001 and April 20, 2002.
According to an affidavit, sexual activity began with unprotected oral and anal sex between Siligato and the girl when she turned 15 years old.
After a lapse in the sexual activity, authorities say the two began having sexual relations once again between August 2003 and February 2004.
All of the incidents occurred at the residence of the 15-year-old girl in Spring Hill, investigators said.
In an affidavit, Detective James Boylan, of the Hernando County Sheriff's Office said he made a phone call to Siligato on March 25 and Siligato admitted he knew the girl was only 15 years old when they began having sex.
Paez said Friday that the pair knew each other and that it was not an act of Siligato meeting the girl over the Internet.
"It was apparently an ongoing thing for a period of time," Paez said. "But it was not over the Internet."
Siligato was released from the Hillsborough County Jail on $180,000 bond.

Well, the Law will certainly take car of this guy (and Prison inmates just LOVE pedophiles), but I do have one question:

Where were the child's parents? Absent? What is their responsibillity in this issue, if any?
Parents? Pshaw! Who needs parents? The nuclear family is a mechanism used to control women and deny children their rights. Just ask Hillary.
