    OOH! A discussion of pain.

Getting to my 2nd degree black blt. has caused its share of pain.

I've broken many things, but my Floating Rib was by far the worst, because every time I inhaled I wanted to cry out....ughhhhh!

Of course, full contact sparring with guys who are bigger than me, some WAY bigger, is no fun either!!!

Another bad thing was, my sensei was so powerful and fast that he used to break my "cup"....NOT FUN.

(Boy, aren't we bored...god, these days and weeks before training camp seem endless!!!)

I crossed a glacial meltwater stream barefoot when I was in Iceland. That was hell. Another painful memory happened at the 99 All-Star FanFest in Boston. They had an event up where you ran from 3rd to home and were timed. I was 15lbs lighter back then and fancied my chances. I took off and made great time only to trip over home plate and fall. I rolled and then slid on my legs. When it felt toasty I realised it was not a good move. I had no skin on my legs below the knees. It was okay until that first shower. Then it was excruciating and it took weeks to heal. Everytime I stood up, woke up or climbed stairs I cracked the scab.
