Hey fellow Jets fans....

I watched the game this morning (taped it last night), and seeing Lamont in his limited time was awesome. I hope we can hold onto him. Also, I just wonder how we can get him and Curtis in the game at the same time. They talk about wanting C-Mart to get 1500 yards and Jordan 1000.

We NEED to resign Lamont to a long term contract. He's entering his fourth year, has SEEN a lot of action, and is healthy due to not playing too much. To trade him for a 3rd or 2nd round pick is a joke IMO.

On 1st and 2nd downs, I'd like to see the following lineup this year:

QB Pennington
LT Fabini
LG Kendall
C Mawae
RG Moore
RT McKenzie
RB C-Mart
RB Jordan
TE Becht
WR Moss
WR McCareins

On third down and 5 or more, take out C-Mart and Becht and bring in Chrebet and Chris Baker.

My point is....keep Lamont in the game. Did you see how he looked like "a cannonball" coming out of the backfield on his 17 yard run? I think he deserves a chance for starter time, and so does C-Mart. But if we don't give LJ a chance to play, how can we actually truly KNOW what we have. The only knock on him is holding onto the football. However, let's get him minimum 10 carries a game and see what he can bring to the offense.

Which one of his 5 carries for 26 yards led you to believe this? The 3 yard TD run?

I was very happy with our RBs, Martin and Lamont look ready to go, Reese played very well hitting the hole strong and even Ian Smart flashed on returns. Looks to be a definite strength. I can only imagine what Lamont would do running behind the first line. Granted their 2nd stringers were on D when he banged out his best runs.

I'm sure on a pats board ** you were beating off to Dillon's 5 carries for 25 yards.

Yeah PFSIKH we really have something to worry about with our RBs. Why were you watching the Jets instead of the Pats anyway? Go back to you borad and lament the carries Dillon got. -1 fine piece of running there.

Corey Dillon 5 for 23 13 yard long
2-7-NE33 (11:32) C.Dillon left tackle to NE 35 for 2 yards (L.Sheppard).
1-10-NE46 (8:41) C.Dillon right end pushed ob at NE 45 for -1 yards (N.Wayne).
1-10-PHI36 (7:27) C.Dillon left guard to PHI 31 for 5 yards (J.Kearse, N.Wayne).
2-5-PHI31 (6:55) C.Dillon right tackle to PHI 27 for 4 yards (M.Simoneau).
3-1-PHI27 (6:16) C.Dillon up the middle to PHI 14 for 13 yards (S.Brown, N.Kalu).

Lamont Jordan 5 for 26 17 yard long 1 catch 14 yards
3-4-NO49 (13:23) L.Jordan right end to NO 32 for 17 yards (M.Mitchell, D.Harper).
1-10-NO32 (13:00) L.Jordan right end to NO 28 for 4 yards (W.Smith).
3-8-NO34 (3:07) B.Bollinger pass to L.Jordan to NO 20 for 14 yards (S.Hodge).
1-10-NO22 (12:55) L.Jordan left tackle to NO 20 for 2 yards (J.Sullivan).
1-10-NO17 (12:11) L.Jordan right guard to NO 17 for no gain (J.Sullivan).
1-3-NO3 (10:49) L.Jordan right guard for 3 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

Curtis Martin 3 for 20 yards
1-10-NYJ20 (13:24) C.Martin left tackle to NYJ 22 for 2 yards (C.Watson).
1-10-NYJ48 (11:29) C.Martin right end to NO 49 for 3 yards (Ch.Grant).
2-7-NO49 (10:48) C.Martin left end to NO 34 for 15 yards (J.Bellamy).

LaMont needs to get more carries, plain and simple. we need to know what we have before or if we let him go as a FA.

Oh dear god Trades. Tell me you didn't just compare running backs stats from their first preseason game. Please tell me you didn't.

It is a thread about people thinking Lamont played well and one of the more idiotic Pats fans that troll here had to take a shot at us being happy that Lamont looked good. Thus I posted the stats to make a point about the quality of Lamont's game that is all. I know it is a meaningless game but if the Trolls would just butt out then things would be much better. There are good Pats fans here that bring value to the board and then there are those that post tripe like I resonded to above.

A great back? No. A good back? Yes. For every good thing he has shown he has shown something bad as well.

 I can't remember the exact game but it was back when Martin was working with 2 bum ankles. Jordan pretty much blew a nut in his big chance to prove something with 2 huge fumbles.

correct me if I am wrong, but LaMont did not fumble once in 2003 or 2001.
