Truth is perception.
Perception can be manipulated.
Loyalty can be bought.
Opposition can be suppressed.
Scapegoats are easy to come by.
Religious fervor is easily corrupted.
Convince the people your cause is a “great moral crusade” and they will follow you anywhere.
Know your audience and tell them what they want to hear.
Manipulate truth by repeating the same information until it becomes the truth.
Manipulate truth through statistics.
Manipulate truth by distracting the masses with an overabundance of trivial information.
Omit "undesirable" details and the truth becomes whatever you say it is.
Give the people reasons to fight amongst themselves over petty issues. Divide and conquer.
Disguise ignorance as information and people will think themselves aware.
The more sensational the story, the easier it is to make the people believe it.
A single appeal to emotion trumps100 facts.
Information presented as “scientific data” will be taken at face value.
Keep the masses in a fluctuating state of fear and you can justify any action you wish.
Turn patriotism into the “state religion,” and the people will gladly turn in their own mothers for treason.
If the people believe you are “protecting” them, they will gladly give up their rights and freedoms.

No one was replying to your post, which seems to happen often. Didn't want you to feel left out. So here goes.
Republicans are poo-poo heads.
Sad, isn't it? For a while there, Herm actually had something of value to say, something worth listening to, even by those who may have disagreed. Now, it seems every thread is a desperate attempt to provoke anger in the Liberal leaning (or liberal defending) posters on the board. Sad indeed.
