Fellas, I apologize if my taunting has been too excessive ... I really do ... I'll try to tone it down a bit
You're all good people in my book who feel very passionate about your Red Sox ... you don't deserve some of the cheap shots I have delivered, especially with the wounds so raw ... and I'm not talking about the mild taunts, I'm talkin about the excessive ones that were really unnecessary
I'll still indulge in the good natured ribbing we exchange, but I'll try not to cross the line into mean-spirited stuff like posting pictures of car wrecks, a house of cards, and what have you
I know you guys are hurtin right now ... been there myself, many times ... so at least while the wounds are so fresh I'll try to avoid being cruel
You are being a fan. That said I appreciate the words. This year is so much different than last. This year I find it easier as we never have been in this series and are legitimately being sent home early. Lastyear was painful as it simply should not have ended the way it did.
I can only pray the team does not allow the yanks to sweep them and to see the celebrations at Fenway.
GJH - Do not worry about it. To the victors go the spoils, to include talkin' $hit.
I agree with SJ. For whatever reason, this year is not as painful as last year. Maybe as wadeski's post alluded to, this was more of a bludgening and seemed over that much sooner.
Props to the Yanks. I followed them all year and while I knew they were good, I did not think they would carry it all way because of the warts they have. I should take a lesson from my football team which might not be the best team, but gets the job more often then not.
This series reminds of the whacking Joe Pesci took in Casino. He was a loud mouth who went too far and then got beat to death with a baseball bat in the desert and was buried. The Sox talked a good game but have been silenced with a barrage of baseball bat swings. Ugly.
JonE - be nice would yah??? Kicking a gal when she's down..... Take a page from the GJH book - being a cordial winner is pretty darn cool.
Hows this: Sox seriously blow right now. Quite frankly I'm sick of all the media attention they get. There is a real winner about 20 miles south on route one in Foxboro. Game in and game out, they PLAY to win. Doesn't mean they will win everytime they play, but they always put forth a gallant effort. Not a lot of brain farts, they usually learn from their mistakes, they practice patience, they have a quiet confidence - kind of like the Yankees, you know?
