I realize my post came across as probably more harsh than I meant it to be. I am not without compassion. I did social work for a year right after college, working with mental health patients. I understand their problems, some of which are beyond their control. Truly sick people need help. I acknolwedge that. Maybe this woman has been battered and that wasn't clear in 4th's post. That is tough.

But still, people are ultimately responsible for their lot in ife, assuming that they have the capacity to function at a normal level of aptitude. This woman has made poor life decisions. "Tough love" while difficult, is likely what she needs. She needs to understand that it is HER who got her in this mess, and HER who is going to get her our of it. Projecting one's problems onto others (gov't, Bush, religion, ex-husband, etc) does nothing except perpetuate the defeatist, victimization spiral that she is in right now. There is no magical gov't program that is going to make her happy and successful. That comes from within, after hard work and perseverence. There are no short cuts and no free lunches.

    you can have it!
NYC is my home..the rest is yours..all those poor bastards who voted for jesus bush hate NYC..Imagine you cut off all of the blue states...America would be a third world nation!...but hey..at least them fags and baby kilers would be gone! [/b][/quote]
Once again you seem to think that people that voted with their morals in mind were all Christians. Things changed after 9/11. Wake up.

Well, I have to admit the truth Chiefs, don't I? George GETS IT. There is really no other way to put it (and I am one who often finds himself on the OTHER end of George's insightful postings).

He also is one who actully gets where I come from 99% of the time. I like that.

Thanks for the kind words guys, but don't get all McGreevied-out on me now!

However, I want to clear up a key minconception:

I may have settled down in Beantown with the wife, but I am not from here...no way, no how. I'm from the greatest place on earth - NEW JERSEY!!!!!!!!

    JER-SEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you ain't from NJ, you won't understand. The Garden State rocks!

Mountain Lakes. It's in Morris County, next to Boonton, Parsippany and within shouting distance of Morristown and Dover.

    Willowbrook Mall in the house!

I grew up in Monmouth County, Hazlet to be exact. Monmouth County voted for Bush higher than any other county in NJ. Now I live near Princeton in Mercer Cty, the county which voted highest for Kerry in NJ.

Little known fact, Morris county was one of the few Red counties in NJ. Thought you'd enjoy that!

Oh, and I live in Essex now. Born and raised in Brooklyn.
